Dropped the needle on this one, and ended up listening to the whole thing.





Italian band. Not quite prog. Not quite power. But pretty nice. Very easy on the ears.

The Halo Effect - Days of the Lost

I can't stop playing this one - music reminiscent of classic In Flames, with Mikael Stanne singing.  It's just a monster album.

Really cool album (better than last year's Faith In Persona imo), it's super impressive how they've taken snippits of pop songs and re-contextualized them to be as epic and massive-sounding as possible.

I mean, it's as "classic melodeath" as it gets, but everything works. Great main melodic theme, tasty riffs and that touch of melancholy that never hurts (love Stanne's performance too)
