Agreed. I have the same feeling about Bruford and Bozzio. Different but they’re both masters. Such a couple of under appreciated ensembles.

It’s a lazy Sunday at my house. Which usually means the wife and I will chill for a while then do some picking up that got neglected during the week and some loads of laundry. That also means the kids are playing in their rooms or outside and daddy has his AirPods in. Today I’m running through at least the first six Van Halen albums. We’ll see if I continue after that. Hear comes the horn at the beginning of Runnin’ With the Devil…take me away!

Got three albums into my Van Halen marathon and decided I wanted to listen to the A-Z record again. So far I would put it above a lot of Fates albums. It’s only my third listen though. So it could definitely change.

Yeah, I posted it on this thread a few weeks ago. Sounds to me almost like progressive black metal, very peculiar sound. It's on my list for physical purchase

I picked up the recommendation through reddit, but thought I recognised the album cover. Yea, it's definitely worth more listens.

I've known a couple of songs for forever but never spun an album until now. I had no idea they were like this. Much more prog and musical than i expected and hugely in my ball park. Steven Wilson did the remix for the deluxe edition a couple of years ago.

I believe the keyboard player is from Omnium Gatherum...maybe someone else too, not 100% sure.

There isn't necessarily a ton of variation across the album, but they do this melancholic melodeath thingie pretty well...
