Listening to the Chadenfold. I seem to have already Saved it in Spotify. I thought it looked familiar.

It's not bad. A bit too keyboardy if you ask me. I'd rather the guitar be more up front.

Chadenfold.  Still laughing at that one.  :lol

The couple songs I listened to reminded of Wintersun with the vocals but with the keyboard drive, I just a lot of old Sonata Arctica vibes.

Spinning this SkyEye again in the car while scooting around for work and yeah I definitely hear Fabio.  Some places overall I hear a lot of early Queebsryche too.

Listening now. I can actually cope with this. At least they aren’t those guttural deep growlies - that would have been a deal breaker. This album is very enjoyable. I would enjoy it more with just cleans though.

Pretty much where I'm at.  And since there are just as many songs with clean-only vox, this is something I can easily make my way through.  I've always said, I can get along with growls that are tasteful, purposeful and meaningful.

Sonata Actica is not really my thing, though, but yeah, I can see that.

But can you hear it?

Spinning the SkyEye momentarily.

Bear's are legit, so I'll check this.

FYI, the debut of SkyEye, Digital God is worth checking too.  I think the second one is better but it's a great debut.  If you liked Soldiers of Light that is.

TAC, I am sorry if I am busy nosy, or if this is public knowledge... but what the heck do you do for work where you can apparently spend every second of it listening to music?

Listening to the new Kendrick Lamar album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, probably one of my favorite albums of the year so far.

Inspired by Wolfking's batch a couple of days ago, some vintage In Flames...

To me, this combo of the Subterranean EP + The Jester Race is absolute peak-In Flames. I don't see the EP very often in conversations about In Flames, but I think it's just some of the best melodic death metal ever put to tape. The one-two punch of Stand Ablaze and Ever Dying is unbelievable, with amazing guitar melodies coming from all directions. And the acoustic guitars sound so good too. Really cool "transitional" music between their debut Lunar Strain and The Jester Race.

EDIT: How good is the guest guitar solo by Fredrik Johansson (RIP) on December Flower??

Despite being on this forum I've never actually listened to the entire DT discography, so working on that this week. Really enjoyed FII top-to-bottom.

I don't listen to the debut or the EP all that much but should revisit.  It's always been about the Jester Race for me.
