Formerly known as Idle Hands...
I was waiting for this (Mana was a favorite from 2019) and, one listen in, I'm not disappointed
No drastic changes in sound (except maybe the opener being a tad more aggressive and speedier than the usual), so I think it's fair to say anyone who enjoyed Mana should enjoy this one too. Of course, this means the surprise element of the debut is somewhat missing too. Great tunes as usual, though, with the right amount of goofiness (do I hear an eagle sound in Destiny?). There's also a Pat Benatar cover (Hell is for Children) that works great. The final three tracks up the catchiness factor and broaden the sound a bit - including cowbell (Summer Lighting) All in all, I'm quite happy with this so far.
Nick, going back to this...I loved Mana. Top 5 album of 2019. I knew this was out, but I just haven't had a chance to follow up. The mp3 is only $7.99 on Amazon, so I bought it last night. Listened to it today at work, and I think it's fantastic. Feels a bit heavier than Mana on first listen, though I was working. Seems those ridiculous wolf howls, by and large, are gone.
Mana was a great album that really hit a nerve with me. I actually listened to ot a few weeks ago and I still love it. There's a little Goth in me somewhere.
