The White Void (a 2021 release) was an interesting listen. I jumped on it blindly, and it held my attention. A bit understated..not quite Gothy. Interesting for sure. I feel like these songs would really come alive in a live setting.

I haven't listened to the Wrabit in well over 35 years. I bought this in a bargain bin at Woolworth's based on the pictures of the musicians on the cover. Kind of a poor man's Styx/Journey, but quite catchy stuff, especially the first track Anyway, Anytime.

This was VERY good. Didn't know Lazare had a new project...definitely something I'll go back to. Thanks for this  :tup

 :biggrin: real name Lars Nedland, one of the founders of Solefald (avant-garde black metal band) and now vocalist/keyboardist for Borknagar. His voice is very distinctive, so when I fist heard the singer in White Void he sounded familiar, and sure enough...

my favourite Beastie Boys album, although I love them all.

Marillion: Fugazi (the 2021 remix is wonderful, the best version of the album and it also includes the full show that was partially used for Real To Reel)

Another great discovery this past week. This is some great stuff out of the U.K. Take Opeth's new direction, make it a bit more spacy and jazzy, add horns, and do more vocal harmonies - but all more in a lower register - not Yes-like. For album "4", they went from a 5-piece to a 6-piece ensemble. The musicianship is excellent and has a great vibe. Just try "Amon" from the latest "4" album - pretty solid indicator of where this band is at. It's a fine place indeed!

It's kind of dense.  The music is ALL samples, and probably couldn't be done now.

A lot of people that loved the first album couldn't get into this one.  IMO, it's one of my favorite albums of all time.
