Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), John Taylor (Duran Duran), Duff McKagen, Matt Sorum.

This is getting an expanded and remastered release next month. Just ordered my copy. They add the Japan only Angelina EP to the original album.

Love this album.
beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Based on Wolfking's rec from a few days ago, this was very good. It's saved and I will revisit for sure.

Truly enjoyable power metal album from the late 90s European wave. It's not even necessarily my go-to music, but  I always found this super solid.

 :metal  Sweet dude.

Nocturnal Rites are killer too.  That album is a good one.  I was more partial to their later stuff though.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

The new Voivod didn't blow me away, but I very much enjoyed it. Nothing groundbreaking for them, but I love how they manage to be catchy in their typical weirdness.

I hadn't heard Grand Magus' The Hunt yet (kinda lost track of them a few years back), and I'm glad I checked it out. Not quite as epic as their best records (for me, Monument, Wolf's Return and Iron Will), but good stuff. The production is a little lighter, but somehow it suits the songs. I'll have to try their most recent ones too...

Silver Talon was a great one from last year...influenced by Nevermore, but with a larger dose of classic US metal.

..and Sorcerer's album...man, this is SO good. Candlemass riffage mixed with Tony Martin-era Sabbath. The vocals are out of this world, the guitar leads are phenomenal, and pretty much every chorus is a huge winner. Top moment among many highlights - the ending of Abandoned By the Gods. Goosebumps.

Predatory Light - Death and the Twilight Hours.

Strong Tribulation, really quite solid, easy listening and pretty melodic.

Iris Divine - Mercurial

This was a nice surprise - came out today and I had no idea until yesterday. I had really liked their previous, The Static and the Noise, with that sound at the intersection of prog metal, King's X-esque sense of groove and melody, and some alternative metal.

I'm enjoying this one a ton. Only one listen, but it sounds like they upped both the modern groove and the proggy, melodic stuff. At times they really let loose, power-trio style, and it's a joy. The first two songs are bit on the "modern" side, and just warming things up (although the chorus in Silver Tongued Lie is great). The third song, Thirteen, is fantastic. There's also a cool instrumental - Death by Consensus - that has some great riffing before suddenly opening up to a breezy, almost AOR-sounding melodic middle section.

Good stuff. I'll be revisiting, for sure...

Playing catchup on a day off and wanted say THANKS this is outstanding :metal

Microtonal Prog Rock is something I never thought I needed but honestly what a trip to listen to, it helps that they're great songwriters because the melodies are beautiful and works great with the weird tonality.

Give this a listen if you like Ghost. It's mostly rock, though it borders on old-school heavy metal / doom metal. The opening track is awesome. :metal

This is definitely worth a second listen  :metal

I'm checking out the new remaster. My favourite TFK song (the title track) is still brilliant.

The guitars are excellent on this, very intriguing melodies. Tribulation, yes, with a good amount of black metal too. I think the songs tend to be a tad longer than they need to be, but the album as a whole is short and sweet, so that works for me!  :)

I notice myself getting very picky with new stuff and I keep returning to the classics that I have deep roots with (maybe its an age thing) but this one grabbed me. Check it out if you haven't, lots of cool guests.
