Big Big Train - Folklore

This is SO good. I recently got the version on Bandcamp that has the vinyl tracklist with the added songs from the Wassail EP and I've been enjoying it a ton...

My favorite BBT album. I also only have the Bandcamp 'vinyl' version. Still regularly listen to this one since I started my journey with them.
beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

:lol  Bit of a contrast hey.  Just discovered Dark Funeral as I saw the opening track video on my YouTube feed.  Really nice, smooth black metal.  Great vocals.  Just the type of thing I'm feeling at the moment.

I'm a contrast guy! I love both albums. Dark Funeral is not your stereotypical black metal band!!! Good call man  :metal

Good thoughts I hope?! Missed you all a lot! After losing my father from cancer, my mother recently became ill and passed away on Mother's Day. So, music took a back seat obviously. But as always, music is the great healer and yes, I love all of you here!!!!  :heart

today it's

DT: Dramatic Turn
DT: DT12
DT: View (my DT trifecta)
Steve Lukather: Candyman
Mike Rutherford: Smallcreep's Day

and Glasser, any choice in music is a great choice in these times.

<four albums>
yeah kendrick was alright but there's some. questionable decisions & only a few tracks really stood out. new gospel rules tho. and didn't care for the smile at all but i've never been wild for radiohead and "radiohead, but less good" isn't super appealing :lol
Yeah, Mr Morale isn't the storytelling masterpiece that TPAB was, but then I wasn't expecting him to make anything nearly as close so I'm fine with the album. I figured you'd love new Gospel ofc :P

Black Country, New Road Ants from Up there

Hmmnnn on the one hand this is pretty original and has a unique sound, but on the other, I'm not connecting with any of the melodies here. Might revisit it in case it clicks eventually.

I like some stuff on here but there's songs like The Place Where He Inserted The Blade and Good Will Hunting that just conjure up strong mental images of preppy white kids wearing flannel doing a musical theater performance at their local suburban high school and that's a hard turnoff for me. :lol

Cave In - Heavy Pendulum

Yeah this is definitely a buy for me. I'm having trouble getting work done, this album is just taking too much of my attention with how much I'm enjoying it. :lol I need to sit with it a bit more but this is probably the 2nd best album I've heard this year. 1st if it ends up overtaking Ibaraki.

I highly recommend giving this a listen if you like your metal with memorable riffs and melodies. :metal

Give this a listen if you like Ghost. It's mostly rock, though it borders on old-school heavy metal / doom metal. The opening track is awesome. :metal

Sounds worth a shot, I'll queue it up.

You're right about the new Cave In as well, hell of a record.

Can't really go wrong with any of this!

I'm currently spinning Danzig - Crimson Highway (Live 1989).  This album appeared on my Spotify feed as a 'new release', although I'd never heard of it. Well apparently Google hasn't either as I can't find a picture of the album art anywhere, to post on here.

The sound quality is pretty terrible and this is clearly a bootleg, but I've never heard any live Danzing before, so it's worth it for that.

Now spinning this beauty...

Exist - So True, So Bound.

Basically if you like Cynic then you need to check this band out. Also if you're into any of those classic progressive death metal bands like Death or Atheist, then you'll love this.

You know, I have never properly checked this album out, despite really liking their previous one, "The unspeakable". Thank you for reminding me

I don't know how this compares, but based on your description above it looks like it didn't stray too far from the sound I remember. My guess is you'll like that one too.

Based on Wolfking's rec from a few days ago, this was very good. It's saved and I will revisit for sure.

Truly enjoyable power metal album from the late 90s European wave. It's not even necessarily my go-to music, but  I always found this super solid.
