How many times have three posters listed Queen albums on the same page?  hefdaddy42, you're a man of your word.
Queen I and II, Golders Green and the related BBC sessions for me and the wife today.
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!

Gary Moore - Wild Frontier

Amazing!

Man, I used to be all about Corridors of Power, Dirty Fingers, and Victims of the Future. And while those are probably still my faves, I reach for Run for Cover, Wild Frontier, and After the War the most now. So good.

Corridors Of Power is a top album for me. And I love Dirty Fingers. I remember being a bit disappointed when Wild Frontier came out. Drum machines, another version of Empty Rooms... But After The War blew me away.
I only saw him twice..on the Corridors Of Power and Wild Frontier tours. He had great bands with him.

The dude always had great musicians live and on his records. Pure legend.

Unfortunately, I never saw him live. I did see a video recently touring for Wild Frontier. Bob Daisley on bass and Eric Singer on drums. I’m guessing right after that, went into the studio together to record Black Sabbath’s The Eternal Idol.

Another Gary Moore fan here!?  Welcome friend.  I'm in the boat that usually goes for Run For Cover/Wild Frontier/After the War.  I'd say Run For Cover is the one I go to most.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Yes, for real.
Finally? Is it any good?

It's alright. :lol It's more or less how Efrim described it being, and doesn't really sound like what GYBE would later be doing. Almost sounds more like Natural Snow Buildings, but more rudimentary.

I'm honestly just amazed that it finally leaked. I had accepted years ago that we would likely never see it surface. I know Efrim and the label haven't confirmed this being genuine yet, but there's a plethora of evidence to it being the real deal.

That's a good one, but I have serious love for New Test Leper.  That song is crazy good.

That whole record is solid.  I loved REM best when they played rock and roll.  When they strayed from that and got too cute, they tended to lose me.  I've always viewed REM albums in pairs (not sure why) and the Monster/New Adventures pair is a winner.  The only songs I don't really care for are the singles, Electrolite and E-Bow The Letter (I can't STAND Patty Smith).

Rolo Tomassi - Where Myth Becomes Memory
i'm rather underwhelmed by this one, it's both way less melodic and yet way less intense so it just sits in this middle ground of being okay but unmemorable
especially as a followup to time will die it's just disappointing

This is the first thing I've listened to by them, so I don't have anything with which to compare it.  As a result, I liked it quite a bit.

Leading up to Friday's release of their new album, I thought revisiting some oldies was in order  :)

Starting with these beauties this morning. My three favorite Amorphis records, actually. So much goodness.

That was an autocorrect change but I will not take spelling or grammar advice from an American 😁😁😁😁

Those Saxon albums are quality. I lost contact with them for a long time after Crusader and the next couple seemed to wimp out and chase the American radio success their contemporaries were having. Going back in recent years I missed out. They have been very consistent.

An amazing 2021 release that I was just made aware of.

Ske - Insolubilia.

Italian group doing progressive/art rock/jazz/avant-guard instrumental stuff. It’s delightful.

I lost contact with them for a long time after Crusader and the next couple seemed to wimp out and chase the American radio success their contemporaries were having.

One of (if not THE) most important VHS tapes in my old collection in terms of my musical influence was from a music video show in Australia called Rage .  I set the tape to record overnight one day back around 1986 and woke up to a hard rock/metal special which had in quick succession:

- the Van Halen 1 "3-pack" of Runnin' With The Devil , You Really Got Me, Jamie's Cryin ......I was into 5150 but not yet Dave era
- Ozzy - Lightning Strikes .....Jake  :o  ......that's my starting point for Ozzy
- Whitesnake:  Slide It In or something similar

and this one from Saxon  :lol   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBbjtb-ffDk

I raced out and bought albums from 3 of the 4.
