Happy to oblige.  Ironically, I'm listening to his 2010 release, Destroy All Monsters this very moment (after just having spun Darwin's Radio / Template for a Generation).  I just adore Dec's voice and playing.  If you like Li2D, I've no doubt you'll enjoy both of those.  His sophmore release (Paradigms & Storylines) was a bit more hit and miss for me.  2016s Book of Secrets was very solid.

You're East Coast right? Do you remember 1-800-Hot Rock? I purchased Kill "Em All on cassette through them shortly after it came out. I remember talking to the guy on the phone. He was in Buffalo. We had a chat about Talas.

New York yes. No Hot Rock. I listened to Fingers Metal Shop from Babylon LI. Sundays from midnight to 6 am. I remember when QR The Warning came out and they had a Take Hold Of The Flame contest where if you won it, the radio station would pay your heating bill for a month!!!

So I'm going on a bit of listening journey.  The "Retro" threads that Soundscape was running got me to realize it's been a long time since I spun a lot of those albums.  So, for 2022, I'm going to (almost fully) dedicate each month to a specific year - starting with 2010, and running chronologically.

It's definitely not an easy listen. I'm not sure it quite reaches any of the highs of Veil, and it's awfully slow and sparse for much of its 70 minutes but I do love it. I'm curious to see how this will age and if it will open itself up to me the way their last 2 have. Never quite dug the debut unfortunately.

Released today. Really enjoyable album. Reminds me of Lor's In Forgotten Sleep from a couple of years ago, but a tad slower pace. Folky, a small amount of harsh vocals.

Didn’t think I could LOVE music that simple (it’s basically just vocals and acoustic guitar and the chords and melodies are pretty standard) but there’s just something so haunting about it.

I think the main disc in its original glory is her best studio album from start to finish (I now think it is a little better than either album from 2020), but the re-release is very nice as well.  I just like the charm and grit and youthfulness of the original more, but I love getting all of those new songs (tracks 21-30).  :)
