HAHA, Stadler fooled by an edit.  That's NOT the picture I was expecting to see!   :) :) :)

By the way, I have a radio just like the one on that "Fogeys" album cover.  Does that mean anything?  :) :) :)




If it matters, I'm listening to Yngwie's "Inspiration".  Interestingly, the one song I wanted to hear most - Sails of Charon - is my least favorite, but the rest is pretty darn good.  It never really sunk in until this past week (when I got the sheet music in a guitar magazine) how influential that song really is.  Uli Roth was about three, four years ahead of his time.

Not any good ones.

I was listening because it was nominated for a Grammy.  I can appreciate good pop music, but I didn't hear any here.  I know that she has a really good voice, but she didn't display it at all here, and the music didn't inspire anything either.  This album was no good, generic at best, and I have no idea why it was nominated for anything, other than the default award-hater's reason of "it's a popularity contest", which is mostly bullshit but makes award-haters feel better when their favorite artists never get nominated for anything.

Ariana Grande doesn't really do anything for me; so many of her songs are the pop tartlet equivalent of shred metal, in that it's more about technical prowess, at least it seems to me, than actual emotive communication through singing.  I have no problem connecting with pop music - Taylor Swift goes without saying and there are Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga songs that wrench my heart - but her's doesn't seem to make the grade.

I get it, totally, but this particular album didn't even rise to "the pop tartlet equivalent of shred metal", it was just boring, generic pop that could have been sung by any female singer.  No technical prowess required.
