Okay, let's make this fun, and difficult!!

You can only listen to one of the two bundles in the poll for the rest of your life. Which are you taking?

Despite it being a gut punch to lose I&W, I have to go with the odds.  That bundle has my two favorite DT albums, Awake and Scenes, as well as probably the two best albums so far of the Mangini era.  The only drawback is taking the bundle that has Constant Motion.  :lol :lol

I'm in the same boat, but opposite:  it sucks to lose SFAM and Awake and "This Is The Life", but I'm sticking with I&W and Octavarium (and dodging The Astonishing, which has never clicked with me; to be fair, I've not given it too much of a chance; I may use that for the next lawn mowing session).

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

This, plus I get to avoid Black Clouds and Self Titled.

Evens.

I enjoy a lot more of those songs than the Odds.

That's the only flaw about The Astonishing. It's an album that requires a lot of time to sit, listen to, and digest the story, the themes, and the premise of the story being told. Most wanted a metal epic war, but what we got instead is a dramatic romance film.

Odds, and it was a painful but also easy choice. I hate losing I&W particularly, but 6 Degrees and DoT also sting, not to mention WDADU being complete dead weight in the bundle I keep. At the end of the day though, SFAM is my desert island album and Awake is also in my triumvirate of god-tier DT releases. I've got ToT to scratch my metal itch, and I don't really mind TA when I want something a little bit softer.

Lose my favorite song of all time or lose my second favorite album of all time? I can’t possibly make a choice here. Scenes From a Memory and Octavarium are both too important to me.

Ugh, I just knew this would end up with Images and Words in one group and at least my next 2 favourites in the other group! Actually it's my 2nd, 3rd AND 4th in the other group, making things very tough. The evens have my 3 favourite songs of all time too. Glancing at my top 30 or so DT songs, it's a fairly even split between the groups. The evens do have 3 of my least favourite DT albums though, whereas the odds only have 1.

My head says take the odds, my heart says take the evens. Ask me again in a few months, maybe the new album will help make up my mind  :lol

Evens, easily. Scenes From A Memory and Train Of Thought are the only albums that would make that a tough choice. Losing ITPOE would also suck, but hey.

Despite losing some incredible songs from every album in the odds, I think choosing the even albums would be a pretty easy choice.

I went with odds.  That left out I&W, as well as my favorite album (SDOIT) and 4th favorite (DT12).  But it gave me my #2 (SFAM) and #3 (ADTOE), and outside of SFAM and SDOIT, probably my most-listened-to DT album (SC).

Do we not get any live albums, or do those get split even/odd (or with their album cycle) as well?  Because depending on whether they are included and how we split them, that could have an impact.   (always looking for an angle!)

I knew this topic seemed familiar... because I did it myself over 7 years ago!  :lol

Well, I'm sure it was bound to happen again. Like last time, I'm going with the Evens, just stronger over-all albums, though I'll miss Awake and Scenes, I don't mind giving up the debut, SC, TOT, and The Astonishing.

jumped on the Odd-boat. Mostly for two of my top best albums are there, Train of Thought and Dramatic Turn. But it’s hard to crusify half of their discography.

If it was ‘Dream Theater’ or ‘the rest of music’ for the rest of my live, it would be easy. I’ll vote for Dream Theater in any moment. Next to Pink Floyd, there’s nothing out there that even comes close to what Dream Theater does to me, musically.

Although SFAM is my favorite album by DT I chose to have two of the big 3 vs one.  I&W and Sdoit.

Also ADTOE is my least favorite DT by a fairly wide margin so I went with the evens.

Sucks that I have Images and Words (meh)  instead of Awake, but SDOIT, DT12, and D/T are just too good to pass up.

Evens have the top 3 MP albums, and the top 2 MM albums. Easy choice.
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.

It's not easy indeed, but:

Odds: SFAM (one of the best albums ever, by any band.
Evens: DT12 (biggest DT dissapointment ever, for me)

So, odds.

Evens.

I&W >>>>>>>>>>>>> WDADU

FII <<<<<<<<<<<<< Awake

SDOIT < SFAM

8VM > TOT

BC&SL >>>> SC

DT12 > ADTOE

DOT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TA

I don't like losing SFAM, but I get I&W and SDOIT and don't get stuck with TA.  While I do get stuck with FII, it at least has a handful of listenable songs.

Also, I'm unilaterally taking ACOS since it's not included in either group.

Had to go with evens due to SDOIT.  It's a shame that SFAM isn't an even. :dunno:

Images and Words, Falling into Infinity, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Octavarium, Black Clouds and Silver Linings, Dream Theater and Distance over Time.

Easy. The highlighted are amongst my favourite Dream Theater albums and i'll take Images and Words over Awake any day. And Black Clouds over Systematic Chaos as well.

Simples. ;)
