Thanks again everyone. My wife and I are squarely on the same page. EVERYBODY who met our boy would agree that he was pretty much perfect in every way. They've told us so. Not that any dog should have to measure up, but none ever will. I will never put us through this sort of hell ever again.
On top of that, my stepson's grandmother passed yesterday, idiotic work issues, we're down 3 out of 5 cars here at home, and ALL of the cramming I've done in the last two weeks for a very serious audition tomorrow - I can totally understand how people become alcoholics just trying to cope. At that point, you're alive, but you're not *living*. Life is just something that's happening to you.
