Any fans?  I just went through the live set on The Complete Master Works, and while there is a limit to Jack Black, these guys are funny.

Absolutely love The D!

Me and a few buddies played the debut so much and used to serenade each other with many of their songs after a few beers.

My go to song, after all these years is still Beelzeboss! That song is great to sing loudly in your car (whilst getting weird looks from passers by). So many good lines!

"I can't wait to take Kage back to hell, I'm gonna fill him with my hot demon gel, I'll make him squeal like my Scarlet Pimpernel"

"We've been through so much shit, deactivated lazers with my dick"

"He gonna make you his sex slave, you're gonna gargle mayonnaise"

I could go on  :rollin it's a freaking masterpiece!

Finally, one of my all time favourite festival experiences was Leeds Festival in the UK, back in 2005. We were waiting for the Foo Fighters to headline and they played Fuck Her Gently over the PA. The whole crowd (or at least it felt like it) sang the entire thing. It was glorious.

So yea, you could say I was a fan.

I love Tenacious D. I haven't really thought about them in years but I played the shit out of that first album. I need to go back and re-listen.

I enjoy 'em!

That said, the absolute best Tenacious D experiences IMO are the series of fan-made mashups that combined some of their songs with the soundtrack of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Seriously, just listen to this remix of Tribute. It's glorious.

Watch the little ego floating in me.

Yeah, they are awesome. Post-Apocalypto was pretty good in my opinion.

Here are a few times they visited Conan:

Loved the first two albums, I have some great memories of them with friends.

The other two not so much, though I can't remember much about them. I have a vague recollection that one of them wasn't too bad, but I didn't like the other at all.

Me and my partner saw The Pick of Destiny a few weeks ago. She never seen it, and I hadn't in a while so it made for a fun evening.

I didn't care about their last album but I do enjoy their music from time to time.

I enjoyed hearing Tribute, which was the first Tenacious D song I heard. Then I saw the movie on Showtime or HBO and I enjoyed it, especially Beezleboss.

When I went to see Dream Theater in Mesa during the Distant Scenes tour, I looked up to see if any shows were playing the night I arrived and saw that Tenacious D were playing close by in Tempe. I bought a ticket and went to the show. I liked the merch and bought a shirt and a "cum towel"

The show itself was amazing. They had a visual screen in front of them for a few songs, then dropped it and revealed the band. It was a great spur of the moment decision, and one I will remember. The backup band is also really good as well.
I don't know how they can be so proud of winning with them odds. - Little Big Man

I don't remember Paul singing "What the f---, lickin' my crack" on the record.  Must be the live version.  :) :) :)

Talking about Tenacious D and Jack Black, did any of you guys played the game "Brutal Legend"? I remember putting a lot of hours into that game mainly because of the music  :metal

Yes! I played it years ago. I think it was bundled in one of the humble bundles I bought. It was a fun game!

Oh well. They did nail the band's clothes in the Abbey Road album, though.

As a big MMA/UFC fan, I really appreciate how Stephen "Wonder Boy" Thompson uses their namesake song as his walk up for fights. Some cheese to be sure....but it's a solid, tongue in cheek block of cheesy wonderment. Love the D.

What would really be cool is if they had Jack and Kyle at the arena to sing it live. But after Sinead O'Connor did that at one of the Conor McGregor title fights a few years ago.....they put the kibosh on that entire idea.

3 of my friends died when I was 18. They were the funniest guys you would ever know as a 19-year-old kid. It was tragic.

Anyway, we had a celebration of life for them at the beach, and I was requested to sing and play "Friendship" by Tenacious D on my acoustic guitar. During the lyrics "Friends will be friends, they're running naked in the sand, Friends holding hands, they'll someday surely form a band" a few of our other goofy friends actually ran naked along the beach.

I'm not a devoted fan, but I always cherish this band for that memory alone.

it never ceases to amaze me; there is so much about Jack Black I SHOULDN'T like - the cheese, the antics, the antics -and yet, I love him. He's hilarious.   I watch a video like this and get sucked in (I can promise I will be watching the D's "Beatles Medley" again today.  The Beatles, with Kyle Gass in mighty tighty whitey's?  How can you not?).

I'm not gonna cook it but I'll order it from Zanzibar!!!"

I just love his enthusiasm and energy. He really is quote unique and it just feels so genuine from him.

My friend, who introduced me to Tenacious D over 20 years ago, used to quote this song so much. It still makes me think of him every damn time.

Can't remember the last time I listened to them, but I do enjoy them.

No one mentioned the HBO show that the band came from though? I loved that as a kid and then the first album, but I just haven't really followed them since.
