I really like Martin Miller but in this instance Josh Smith delivers a very soulful solo: https://youtu.be/x_9Zn221BwQ?t=331

That dudes hybrid picking is out of this world.

I have three that immediately spring to mind:

Roadrunner United - In the Fire (solos start at 2:20)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BdNi0K2FLek

Great Priest/Maiden style trade offs here from Matt and Corey.  Always loved this song and the classic feel behind the whole thing.  Great King performance too mind you.

This solo has been my phone ringtone for a good 8 years now...time stamped just a few seconds before kicking in. I think what sells this for me, because it isn't overly shreddy or anything, is the fucking magical tone Sam gets from his guitar, it's just such a unique and awesome sound, so heart wrenchingly deep.

That’s a good one. I love that video. They totally rocked that cow pasture!

OK, I'll play..

The nice melodic solo starts at the 3:28 mark, and then then from 3:55 -5:10, prepare to have your face melted. Great bass too!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRhYOGmyg0c

Holy shit!  This whole song kicks ass.  Gotta check these dudes.

The name sounds familiar.  Did you send me these guys in a roulette?  Or Chad maybe?  The sound of them doesn't ring a bell, I would have followed up on them for sure.

Definitely Tim in a roulette, I've received this same song too.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

One of my favorite things in music is a good guitar solo. Wanted to start this thread as a dumping ground for any random guitar solos that you think just hit the spot. It can be anything, but perhaps the more obscure the better. To start things off:

Doug Ott - See No Evil (Enchant) (Doug’s solo starts around 3:50. The first two are Ted Leonard).

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot4aEWGKa2U

Doug is an underrated player with tons of great solos, but Tug of War is one of the less visited Enchant albums for me. This song came up on my computer just now and I was like, “ooh, that’s a nice solo.” Has kind of a Latin feel with a nice balance of shred and melody (as Ott’s solos tend to do).

It's been many years since I heard that song but Doug always has really great solos. I particularly enjoy the ones in Broken and Elyse.

My contribution is The Edge's solo in The Fly by U2. Begins around 2:18

Haven’t heard that song in a long time, but I still remembered every note of that solo. Beautiful.

He has so many. Elyse is definitely a good one. Had to go back and check out Broken again, but that’s a good one too.

Great song, and that’s a great example of a relatively simple but still amazing solo.

I assume we're searching for lesser known Goodies.

With that in mind, I always loved the solo in Blue Murder's "Out Of Love"

I also love the shared solo's in Thin Lizzy's "Still In Love With You."

There are many more of course. I'll share them as I recall them.

Yeah, lesser known is good, though really anything that you want is fine! We’ve had a nice mix of obscure and well-known solos already.

Alan Morse is another favorite guitarist who doesn't get enough love. Two from one of the lesser loved Spock's Beard albums (figured out how to do a direct link to a specific time in the video):

Hard to argue with this one. I’m particularly fond of the one in My Shoes (Revisited), but there are a number of others as well that are up there (The Good Don’t Last, Flow, Solitary Soul, Ghosts of Autumn, Waiting for Me).

TAC would report me to Bosk if I didn't mention the outro solo on Tonight, by Ozzy (Randy Rhoads solo).

A personal favorite is Dave Navarro's solo on Three Days, by Jane's Addiction.  Starts about 4:40 and goes for about a minute or so, then breaks into a very Alex Lifeson-like figure, then picks back up around 6:05, and really hits stride about the 6:30 mark.   He's made his name for other things, but for me, Dave Navarro is a legit top ten guitar player.   I saw them and like a dork I pushed my way up to the front row to stand in front of him as he played that crescendo part at about 7:45.  EPIC.

John Spinks (RIP) in The Outfield's "Every Time You Cry" (About 2:45).

Too many to offer by Elliott Easton, the secret sauce of so many great Cars songs.
