Guthrie Govan's solo on Regret#9 from Steven Wilson's Hand Cannot Erase.  His solos on Drive Home and Ancestral are also legendary

And here's an amazing solo from Guthrie with The Aristocrats.  He's just on another level the best I've seen or heard..

I've been a fan of Guthrie for years and years, since the Erotic Cakes days and I agree those solos on those SW records are incredible. I recently learned on the drive home solo one of the guitar strings came out of the nut so he did the solo, in one take, with five strings. I also think it was the first take.

My Guthrie submission is a solo from one of the jam track albums: https://spotify.link/2gHxqYOu3xb

If any of you get a chance to see Guthrie in one of the various projects he is in, do it. He is on another level when it comes to guitar players, even compared to the greats.

Yes, you can hear the string pop out and I believe SW said it was the first take.

He's on another level for sure, the best I've seen (and I usually agree with MP, there are no bests, only favorites).

Check out this video Rick Beato did on his playing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6ucIShHW7Q

Prince - Let's Go Crazy.  The song stops for it.  That alone makes it epic.

This is one of my favorites, and "tasty" is exactly the word I'd use to describe it: https://youtu.be/r2HviBq12A4?si=5X_sb_TdaauKasRE&t=284 (Steve Howe - Siberian Khatru).

My favorite part is when he switches from the steel guitar and plays that lick. Soooo tasty.

Sycsa is perhaps the most brilliant and insightful man I have ever encountered.

The solo in this Spock's Beard song kills me every time.

Cool solo, and then the vocals kicked in and I thought “is this When Doves Cry”?
