Was listening to Lord's last album and this solo section blew me away.  The second section from 4:31 is fucking incredible. Mark Furtner, what a great guitarist.

Heh, I was expecting Reba McEntire when I first pulled that up! I did enjoy that though.

Speaking of Evergrey, my fav solo from both Henrik and Tom I think is on As I Lie Here Bleeding.  Incredible twin guitar attack.

That's a good one, I love the switch to straight 8s in 4/4.

I think one of my favourites is 3.24 in Disconnect.

It's wonderful driving groove.

I'll have to relisten to Disconnect.  Haven't spun that album for quite a while.

Was listening to this earlier, and it's another example of a song I love almost solely for the solos. I'm not a particularly big fan of the band but this is gold:

Scar Symmetry - Ghost Prototype II

https://youtu.be/zPPN_tWT0f4

This has a lovely solo as an intro and as an outro, but everything that comes from 3:54 is just beautiful  :metal

That mid section is brilliant.  Shout out to Ghost Prototype 1.  Pers solo in that is out of this world.

Not really a guitar solo as in a 'here it comes' type of way in a vocal-led track, but I really like the melodies and tones from Satch here. The lines and chord changes are really good I think. Oh, and the drum and bass groove is so weighty, I love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvfoo3fR3cA

I love how he almost looks drained after the solo from giving his whole soul into it.

Incredible player on a diffrent stratosphere than most.

4:40 in. Big build up to this solo.

Fuck that was awesome.

I love the emotion of the solo.

Ok, so maybe this is a bit of a random one...

The band(?) is Autonoesis, and this is from the self-titled debut (from 2020). It's somewhat proggy death metal, and everything (from the cover art to the programmed drums) looks pretty DIY...but I think it's excellent. The guitar work especially, both the riffs and the solos...

Anyway, this is the opener. The solo starts around 5:20, but the link below starts a little earlier, as I think the riff sets the stage beautifully. The solo has a shreddier first half (but still very melodic), which then leads to some amazing, wailing notes in its second half. REALLY good.

This song 'Earth Scar' by Decapitated has an ultra cool solo and the section leading up to it is super dope as well.

I may have posted this video on this forum before, but not in this thread. This is a very old school, hard rock solo from the late 1970's. So you might need to be a fairly old geezer like me to remember this, but even then....these guys were relatively obscure. This is also a very long solo....there is a lot of space between the notes, but it just REALLY flows along. The guitarist, Mark Chatfield....takes his sweet ass time to play this epic solo. It never feels rushed, and the rest of the band is so neatly in the pocket.

The entire song is great, but the solo runs from 2:12 - 5:45.

Michael Schenker!

I've thought about what solo of his to feature in this thread. And I keep going back to this one. It's Time On My Hands from UFO's 1974 album Phenomenon. Remember, Michael is just 18 when he records this beautiful solo.
The solo starts at 2:10.
