Opeth - Heir Apparent

I'll probably get into their discography more at some point to see if there's others I really enjoy, but aside from this song, I just can't seem to really get into much of anything by Opeth.

I can't stand Korn's general sound and Jonathan Davis' vocals, but Blind works for me well, maybe because it has a grungy vibe.

Paramore has some ok songs, but the one song that I really like from them is Brick by Boring Brick.  Can't explain why.

TAC posting Fistful of Metal in the albums thread made me think of one.

Anthrax - Deathrider! Man that song is great but I just have not been able to find a single other Anthrax song I like, and I've heard a LOT! I should listen to the whole of Fistful of Metal though, as I don't think I ever have.

I'm surprised you don't like more of their material. That's a pretty typical sounding song from them in their "pop-punk" period and they have a bunch that are relatively similar.

Their self-titled and After Laughter are really good...they got away from the pop-punk sound and are doing stuff a bit more pop/80's oriented.

Phil Collins - "In the Air Tonight"

Some of his other songs are OK, but that's the only one I love.

Call it strange if you like but it's a classic rock staple that has everything. It's also one of the few songs I prefer the studio version over a live one.

You mean, in general? You usually prefer live versions of songs?

As a rule in general, I usually prefer live over studio, but it really depends on what band it is.

Hacktivist - Cold Shoulders

An unusual combo of djent and rap. It works really well in that particular song. I've heard some of their other stuff, and... Nah.

I'm not much of a Duran Duran fan, but that whole album is pretty great, IMO.

Only one band really stands out to me and that's Plaid. Their song "Zamami" is a great little chill piece of music so when I went and checked out the rest of the album I quickly discovered I did not like anything else.
