I thought a thread like this existed, but I couldn't find it. The following definitely isn't important enough for its own thread, but I had no idea where else to post it.
I was eating lunch at a local place, and they have music playing (not loud as to be obtrusive, and I mostly just tune it out). Today, however, there was some insipid, generic pop song playing - a duet with a guy and a girl. Didn't really notice it until they got to the lyrical hook: "Let's Marvin Gaye and get it on." I couldn't tune it out until it ended, and that line got repeated a couple dozen times.
I'm thinking, "what the fuck?!" Aside from using "Marvin Gaye" as a verb, did someone think this is a clever line? It felt like some young teenager heard "Let's Get It On" and told his friend about it and thought the line was super clever.
So...like I said...definitely not worthy of its own thread, so respond if you wish or use this thread for other similar thoughts.
