Into the Vortex once again shows the musicianship and creative force behind the name
Dream Theater. The rich and detailed artwork by the bands usual collaborator brings the package to the whole another level.
I feel we really outdid ourselves on this one. Of course, I cant say this is the best album weve done, because they are like children to me, I couldnt pick my favorite one if you asked me. But I really feel we captured lightning in the bottle with Into the Vortex. The music, the lyrics, the guestswe decided to bring a couple of guests for this one, James sang on that Evergrey album last year, so we asked Tom to contribute on one song, and then we have Neal on another one. Their insight really made these songs special! We ultimately decided to let them name the songsit all comes together beautifully, one of the musicians explains.
Into the Vortex is the bands first studio release since 2019s Distance Over Time. The new live release will be available in various configurations including digital only, a standard jewel case edition, a 2-CD and DVD digipak with slipcase, a limited deluxe 3-CD and DVD Artbook, and a limited 4-LP, 2-CD and DVD box set.
