I really liked the new single!
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Not new new. Read the previous page.

That said I was gutted when I realized it was not the first Sunya single.

Also interesting that the most hated TDH album (even by Casey himself) is the one that gets the anniversary treatment.

I have a newfound appreciation for Migrant. It's actually been my most listened to TDH album over the last 6 months or so.

The version of An Escape is shorter. But there's also this part:

Nice surprise this morning, The Dear Hunter have released the live recording of Act I they recorded a few years ago, on streaming servicesÖ

https://spotify.link/low2kOaR6Cb

This was the live version they recorded during COVID, and released on their subscription service Pillar. Man, I eagerly awaited this when it came out, and it did not disappoint. They first released the audio and visual recording about 2.5 years ago. I remember vividly watching it when it came out. It dropped in the early hours here in the UK and I was awake super early as my kid had woken up. I remember rocking him to sleep in the rocking chair, then sticking my headphones on and watching this, with the early morning sun streaming through the window and my boy asleep in my arms.

It honestly blew me away and is like the definitive version of the album as far as Iím concerned. Make sure you listen if youíre a fan guys. It honestly increased my appreciation of the debut tenfold!

I've always loved Migrant. Not quite at the level of Acts III-V or The Color Spectrum, but the next tier down for sure.

Interested in hearing the reworked version. I love most of the songs on the "Migrant Reprise" EP so having those worked in should be interesting. The tracklist posted on the previous page (which comes from the Elusive Disc LP listing) has an error because it has Dig Your Own Grave in there twice. Per the Amazon digital listing, the first one is supposed to be Middle Ground.

I agree with this - Like Crazy in particular is a gem.

Actually the separate EP was called the Migrations Annex wasn't it. Migrant Reprise was the re-release that had those songs attached to the album.

I thought Rich was right about Migrant Reprise. Iíve never seen that version you linked Soundscape. What a strange selection of songs to tag onto the main album. Anyone know why those songs were picked?

Pretty sure that discogs listing is incorrect. Seems to be 6 random songs, probably live performances.

it might not be. I wasn't familiar with "Migrant Reprise" either, but it looks like a European version of Migrant with those extra tracks, maybe live or like some kind of sampler the label wanted to include.

You'd think they would want to include tunes from The Migration Annex instead, but I suspect the band may not have had anything to do with what else was included on it.

Itís weird, youíve then got Migrant (Deluxe) on Spotify that has some of the songs from The Migration Annex added on, but not all of them.

I remember now.  The deluxe version was from the horrible days when you used to get bonus songs for buying the digital copy.  I remember I brought the iTunes version for those 3 tracks and when Annex came out I just brought the other 3 songs.

it is available to watch for 48 hours after it's over fwiw.

They should be doing the 1 new unreleased tune "Plains" which oddly enough, Bradford Cox's band Deerhunter also has a song of the same name. I doubt Casey realized that though.

My son and I drove a couple hours to Atlanta to see them three weeks ago... damn were they solid!
