I don't even think we'll get a Jeopardy ever again. Or, be as big as it is. If they try and replace him, they have to get someone really good. He was the face of Jeopardy. I wonder if Trebek wanted to do a Bob Barker, and get a successor before he croaked. Bob Barker did the best thing for The Price Is Right, by naming a successor and transitioning into the new host Drey Carrey, the audience accepted it because it got the approval of Bob. I hope the fans of Jeopardy accept the new host, whomever that is, and the executives do a decent job of getting a great successor.

This may sound disrespectful, but I promise it isn't intended that way... it's crazy to think a game show host touched the lives of so many in such a meaningful way. But if you are the type of guy Alex was, that is just par for the course.

I used to watch Jeopardy with my parents every night growing up. Such a warm, likable, friendly presence. I don't know much about him, but he was such a component of our "family time", and I'll miss him.

Yeah, this was sad but expected news.  I had read somewhere about a month ago that he decided after his third round of chemo that he didn't want to keep fighting what was clearly becoming a losing battle.  So he ended treatment, which, of course, gave him a HUGE burst of energy for about a month until the disease came roaring back.  For a guy of such an advanced age he was still sharp as a tack and they recorded the last episode of 'Jeopardy!' with him just a few weeks ago.  If he never developed this cancer he might have continued hosting that show at least a few more years.
