That's because I'm a music whore though.

Well, it could be because Red Barchetta is on the best selling Rush album of all time.  Not only that, it's one of their best songs.  RB is easily the definitive choice without taking anything away from Freewill.

Disagree, Red Barchetta wouldn't even enter my top fifty Rush songs.

Well, that's too bad.  What would that top 50 be BTW?  :lol

Off the top of my head, my favorite Rush songs...

- Marathon, Grand Designs, The Big Money, Manhattan Project, Territories, Mystic Rhythms
- Hemispheres, The Trees, Circumstances
- Finding My Way, Working Man
- Anthem, Fly By Night
- Lakeside Park, Bastille Day, The Necromancer
- A Passage to Bangkok, Something For Nothing
- Freewill, The Spirit of Radio
- Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight
- Subdivisions, The Weapon
- The Body Electric, Kid Gloves
- Time Stand Still
- The Pass
- Dreamline, Bravado, Face Up
- Animate, Alien Shore, Double Agent, Cold Fire
- One Little Victory
- Far Cry
- Headlong Flight, The Garden

Okay so that's 40, if I looked at the albums proper I could definitely fill out the other 10. And I know I'll get shit for Kid Gloves, The Body Electric, and some others making the list but not, say, 2112, or a single song from AFTK

"Face Up" is in your top 40 Rush songs, but not one single song from AFTK?  :o
How could you deny that Xanadu is objectively better than Face Up?  ;D

Xanadu sucks and is one of their most overrated boring songs and I do not feel the slightest bit of remorse for saying so

Look I got into Rush in 2017. That's not a good excuse but I guess we can add this to my list of ultra controversial takes

I do like Xanadu. One of my favorite 70s Rush tracks. But I might be able to come up with 50 Rush songs from 1980 onward that I prefer as well.

Joe, this is a movie that my wife brought to our relationship. I had never seen it. I thought the whole thing looked fucking stupid. But she converted me, and we quote it to each other...almost daily.

So one year we stayed concierge level at the Beach Club in Disney. We went to the club room and I SWEAR TO GOD Joe Pesci was sitting there. He didn't have a toupee on and looked really raw, but I knew it was him. My wife disagreed.

I agree with Elite actually. I mean, I DO like it, and I'll sit through if it I put on Hemispheres, but it's just another long instrumental, not very entertaining. Great moments in that song, but as one piece, frankly it's not a Rush song I ever choose to listen to  :corn

Count me as one of the folks who is *somewhat* bored by LVS. It has its moments for sure, but for whatever reason I’ve never been especially fond of any of the Rush instrumentals.

Couple thoughts:

- La Villa Strangiato is my favorite Rush song of all time, period.
- Marissa Tomei is hot AF in that movie.
- My Cousin Vinnie is hilarious.

TAC, similar story:  I was at a hotel in South Carolina for my (ex's) work (my daughter and I joined her there) and my daughter was in the pool.  I was sitting on a table doing some work, and Lou Reed sat down behind me.   He looked... frail.  Like he was 90 (this was in the 2008 time frame?).   I knew it was him, though, because his girlfriend/wife was Laurie Anderson - google her, she's unmistakable - and she came in and sat with him.    I had with me the book "Please Don't Kill Me", an oral history of punk rock in New York in the 70's, and I thought it would be cool to have him autograph it - he's basically the godfather of punk rock in New York in the 70's - except I lost my nerve.  Good thing, because as I kept reading through it, it turns out the authors were VERY critical of him.  He might have thrown my book in the pool!!!  :)

I like Freewill alright, though it's never been a favourite. Red Barchetta on the other hand does nothing for me, and is clearly the weak spot on Moving Pictures.

So Freewill it is.
