Well, it sort of existed, then didn't.   On Discogs, you used to be able to go to an album - say, "Assault Attack" - and you'd have all the songs.  You could click on "Dancer" and get a list of all the different releases with "Dancer" on it.   Now, this doesn't sound like much, but if you're a collector, and you're looking for that version with Gary Barden singing, and not Graham Bonnett hyperventilating, you could narrow down your choices pretty quick and find THAT version.

It was in "Beta" and they stopped it.  Now, I have to search every release that MIGHT have it, to see if it's there, THEN check if it's THAT version. 

I'd also like it if my DMV could have a database compiled of all the cars I've ever registered; make, model, VIN.    I owned a couple cool BMWs back in the day and I'm looking for exact specs, and just can't find any of my records.

There are plenty -even an overabundance I'd say- of hobby-based websites.  I can't think of a good reason to put them all in one location, though, especially when you can find anything you want with a simple Google or Bing search.

I actually have (well, my coworker and I came up with this idea) a good idea for a spin off of the company I currently work for.  We do online advertising and we do not do business with porn websites.  We figured, why not use the same tech our company created but use it ONLY for porn websites as a different company.  I mean, porn is one of the biggest uses of the internet and it's completely ignored by one of the top online advertising companies.  That's a lot of ad transactions being ignored.  I mean, if you look on [snip - rule 1], you'll get ads so someones tapping into that market but I doubt they have the tech to do what my company can do to really get the most out of it.

Sidebar:  porn is what it is, you're either with it or you're not, but I will say this:  according to a friend of mine, the COMMENTS sections of some of the videos on pornhub are comedy gold.   Whether it's the requisite Jesus references, or the guy that notices weird shit in the background, or comments on the acting/script, some of them are hilarious.

That's a fascinating part of it for me; you have to make an account, log in, etc. to post a comment.  It seems like it requires a certain "dedication" to your craft, if you follow me.  There doesn't seem to be any "community" that I can tell, but still.

Don't get me wrong, I've looked through comments before, but mostly to see if anyone knows the name of the person I'm watching so I can focus my search. But other than that, comments seem strange.
