As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

May as well rank all these songs now.

Circumstances
Vital Signs
Different Strings
Chemistry
Red Tide
Emotion Detector
Madrigal
In The Mood
Lessons
I Think I'm Going Bald
The Body Electric
Dog Years

The songs below are kinda hard to rank because they're all just about equally "meh," but BU2B2 is definitely on the bottom.

Good News First
The Speed Of Love
How It Is
You Bet Your Life
Tai Shan
Rivendell
BU2B2

Really surprised Tai Shan is still in this thing.

I give Tai Shan credit for its uniqueness, even if it’s not really a great song. Whereas something like The Speed of Love is so painfully average that I can’t imagine even the band having any excitement over it while writing/recording it.

In spite of the bands dismissal of the song, I actually find there to be a lot of heart in Tai Shan. I don’t even consider it the worst from that album (that would be High Water)

I agree wholeheartedly.  And by "wholeheartedly", I mean "exactly the opposite".
