So is the "Fest" thing done or is it something he switches on and off?   Man, that's one of the things I don't like about Schenker; it's sometimes so hard to follow the progression.

So basically everything was released under the Michale Schenker Group label through 2010. In 2011, Michael tried to get a band off the ground with Pete Way, Herman Rarebell, and Michael Voss.
It was to be called Temple Of Rock.
I think the record company insisted it be under Michael Schenker's name.
Well, Pete Way was a mess at the time, and only played a few tunes. Michael Voss was on vocals, and Doogie White sang on one song. By the time they went and toured the album, Francis Buccholz joined on bass and Doogie took over full time vocals.
This lineup made Bridge The Gap and Spirit On A Mission, two of Michael's best albums.
So technically, 3 albums were released under the Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock label.

He ended up getting an offer to tour Japan with his 3 original singers (Barden, Bonnet, and McCauley). Doogie White wasn't even part of it originally. He's not on the live album that was recorded.
They called it the Michael Schenker Fest celebrating Michael's career, or at least those classic years.
Michael brought Doogie back in so he could merge the classic singers with his current singer. The Michael Schenker Fest recorded two albums, Ressurection and Revelation.

Michael decided that he would to a Michael Schenker Group album to coincide with his 50th year in music. He thought he should move on from Doogie to keep things fresh. He chose Ronnie Romero to sing on the album. The problem was, due to Covid, Romero couldn't get there, so Michael continued recording without him. He had Michael Voss with him, who sang all of the guide vocals on the demos, and Ralph Scheepers was also in Germany, so he did a couple of songs. Somehow, Joe Lynn Turner was available and he did a couple of tunes. Ultimately, Romero finished the last few tracks.
Unfortunately, with the many vocalists, it does come off like the two MS Fest that preceeded it, but without the familiar vocalists. I think that threw you guys, but I'll be honest, Immortal is better than both Ressurection and Revelation.

So now Michael is back to touring as MSG, and he has Romero with him.

Nah I thought Immortal was pretty weak.  I compare everything of his to Bridge the Gap, which isn't fair really.

Jeez, Ronnie does sound good.

I wish Schenker would get a new hat though.  Even back to the good old baseball cap.

Woah! Where did this come from? I’m stoked.
Hell of a lineup too. Of course Ronnie is the main singer, and Ralf Sheepers is there again and…,

Wow, Michael Schenker really works a lot and fast!! It seems the Kiske’s song is THE song of the album!

Michael Kiske!!!!!!!!!
I liked this little nugget:

The rock anthem "A King Has Gone" and its intro "Calling Baal" both have a special significance: The track, sung by Helloween frontman Michael Kiske, is a tribute to the immortal Ronnie James Dio, in particular to his performance on the 1976 hard rock classic Rainbow Rising. For this reason, Schenker has brought together an original Rainbow rhythm section consisting of Bobby Rondinelli and Bob Daisley, additionally enlisting keyboardist Tony Carey, who also played on Rainbow Rising, for a terrific Moog synth intro - a direct reference to the iconic intro of the 1976 album opener "Tarot Woman". The impressive result "Calling Baal"/"A King Has Gone" is already considered to be one of the most important and successful songs in Schenker’s career to date, both musically and lyrically.

That, and "The Universe", featuring an atmospheric duet by Ronnie Romero and Gary Barden.  I still think Barden is my favorite Schenker singer.

Oh man...I didn't even see the end of the article on my phone at work. WOW, that sounds awesome!!!!!! I literally cannot wait for this. Damn, Schenker has been productive.

I really hope it's better than the last one.

Well, for starters, if has Kiske!!!

Actually the last one was pretty good, songwise. I thought it was better than the two Fest albums that came before it.

:tup  That's cool with me Prof.

He's sitting so casually too with his leg up.  :lol  But the look of his face is like he's going straight into a meteorite and he's thinking, 'oh shit I should be driving this thing not playing the single string.'

Maybe its his licks that is actually powering it.

Some interesting, maybe jarring drum patterns on first listen. Reminds me of Covenant. Great playing by Michael, but I may need to hear this a few times to figure it out.

That was easily better than anything on the last one (besides ISOPOM).  Could hear this on Bridge the Gap.  Really quite excellent, Ronnie works well.

Yeah, I have nothing against Ronnie, and actually think he's quite excellent. It was just that every album that came out over a two year span seemed to have him on it.

I'm really looking forward to this album, especially the Kiske tune.

Interesting that it's billed as Michael Schenker's MSG.

His last album was pretty good. Better on the whole than the two Michael Schenker Fest albums that preceeded it. Still, I'm happy he's been so productive. I'd rather not wait 6 or 7 years for a great 10 song album. I'm fine with 5 albums released where I can cull 10-12 excellent tunes from. I'll find something to like about the rest.

I thought it was awful. Michael shitting on his own legacy by putting out substandard crap, an uninspired solo, and the fashion sense of a 12 year old. It's embarrassing, honestly.
