Zoom E In Concert!!!

 ;D

That was really good.  Kid's got enthusiasm, I'll give her that!

The backing band was hilarious, though.  The guy on the left looks like he's playing Wembley with the real Michael Schenker, the bass player looks like he's playing Austin City Limits with Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the drummer looks like he's trying to see where his order of tacos is.

Very aleatory, but this caught my atention...
from "Girls at the Gig" lyrics off McStine & Minnemann II, just released today at bandcamp:

"...But I married my sweetheart
I never got no action on the road
And I don't drive a fast car
We live in a basement, but we paid off all the loans
And I've got my record collection
And a lot of time for introspection
Now, I gotta go thank her
For letting me solo like Michael Schenker"

.. and a very nice solo by McStine (using a very Schenker-y guitar timbre) :metal
"one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." (RIP Neil Armstrong)

Hah! That is awesome!!!

Speaking of Michael Schenker...

Spirit On A Mission

https://open.spotify.com/album/5CNYe4vuZHJJH6nl4wB0rp?si=FBaAKOIfRJ2rGOFQ0zzUfA

Released 2015

1. Live And Let Live
2. Communion
3. Vigilante Man
4. Rock City
5. Saviour Machine
6. Something Of The Night
7. All Our Yesterdays
8. Bulletproof
9. Let The Devil Scream
10. Good Times
11. Restless Heart
12. Wicked

Michael Schenker-Guitar
Doogie White-Vocals
Francis Buchholz-Bass
Herman Rarebell-Drums
Wayne Findlay-Keyboards

The is the outstanding follow up to the excellent Bridge The Gap. Same lineup on this one too. This, along with Bridge The Gap, are easily Michael's best albums since the early 80's. I definitely like Bridge The Gap more, but I love Spirit On A Mission.

Lots of heavy and fast tempo tracks. Something Of the Night features Michael doing something I've never heard before, like a hive of bees in a mosh pit. Kade, please explain?!

Nasty riffage in Saviour Machine, and a perfectly catchy poppish tune with Good Times. Great lyrics on that one too.

Once again we get Viagra Herman on this. Where was this kind of drumming 35 years ago?

This is a fantastic lineup with all kinds of chemistry.

Ugh, would love to listen to Bridge and Spirit but I made a big mistake with who I bought them from. Seller took just over 7 days before shipping. Then to add insult to injury, they used DHL. Their super power is being 10x slower than the USPS has become. What's worse, is DHL will hand this off to the USPS. I'm calling 2 weeks before I see these.

I have recently made 2 orders from a seller on Discogs that is in Taiwan. In both cases I got my orders in 7 days. Anything sent domestically via DHL is usually a firm 2 weeks.

Did I say ugh?  >:(

This is coming from someone who has ordered hundreds upon hundreds of items online. I would much rather have something come snail mail and I miss it.....I know it is being left at the post office by Canada Post.....easy to pick up.....but when I see something is being delivered by UPS, Purolator.....and yeah especially DHL ::)....I know it will be an effort on my part to get it.......snail mail, Canada post.....easy peasy

This is a really great album.  I too love BTG a lot more but this is a brilliant follow up.  I was a bit thrown at first, the first four tracks head into a more classic rock direction but then we get a slab of heavy ass 7 string laden songs.

Something of the Night is a really interesting and unique song.  This is Schenker heading into fusion territory.  Tim, your description of the bee have is quite spot on.  The heavy helps that but the melodies seem to incorporate a lot of chromatic notes in that intro giving that uneasy, sliding bee like feel.  Great track.

Good Times is actually a fav too, great lyrics and atmosphere.  Wicked is a little underwhelming, but the rest is fabulous.

Check the bonus track too, Searching For Freedom.

Lol wut?  :lol

Watching him talk is fascinating.  It's like watching that husband that went out for a couple drinks with his work buddies after work, but came home the next day missing one shoe and with lipstick on his collar trying to explain himself to his wife.  Makes no sense whatsoever.

I will say this:  he looks better at 65 than I did at 35.  He's a good lookin' man, I'll give him that.

Seriously, surprising performe of him in these two albums, including some interesting double bass drumming! Maybe the two best recordings of his career? Francis is also very good!
This live album is very interesting, it has a very uncommon setlist for Schenker :tup

The Live In Europe and Live In Madrid are great companion pieces featuring this lineup. Even though there's 19 songs on Europe and 21 songs on Madrid, I think there's only 8 repeats.

A Conspiracy of Stars, then... Just another surprise. :lol
Yep, I liked this one as well. If it turns out to be the band's final album of originals it's not a bum one to end on. It's actually a pretty great one from a band this late into the game. The boys sound good and confident here. I got a kick out of Vinnie's occasional Ronni Le Tekrø-esque muted picking runs. That was a neat new feature in his playing. Phil Mogg remains the star of the show though. He's never been a flashy singer and is even less so at this stage, but the man always delivers and has that special something. One of the best.

It'd be hard for me to put together a ranking of the band's discography beyond the Schenker years, but the Vinnie era seems simple enough:

The Monkey Puzzle
Seven Deadly
A Conspiracy of Stars
You Are Here
The Visitor

I <3 me some UFO, long may it oscillate!
Human by Nature (prog-infused psychedelic metal): https://linktr.ee/hbnearth
Our debut album "Eläimys" is a trip I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone into Pain of Salvation, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Magma etc.

Amazon UK still has it in stock. I'm still hoping they just get it from themselves and then ship it on to us. That, or the label does another run as this clearly had a much higher demand than anyone expected.

Just finished listening to the Schenker Barden Acoustic Project. I really, really enjoyed it. Barden shines on this. It is a perfect accompaniment to his voice at that point and time.

I can see why TAC skipped it in the thread. Does not seem like his cup of tea.

Michael put together a project called the Michael Schenker Fest in the summer of 2016. After playing a few festivals, they would do 3 shows in Japan, featuring old band mates, including the three singers of his classic early eras, Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet, and Robin McAuley.
He also reunites with classic rhythm section Chris Glen and Ted McKenna, along with former McAuley Schenker member Steve Mann.

This is an amazing show in a beautiful venue. The place is huge and loaded with fans. So many classic tracks, with Michael playing an instrumental before each singer takes the stage. Really nice transitions.

I posted the entire show above, but this clip is set to Save Yourself! :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

So I'll be honest. I met this release with an eyeroll. I know Michael just had his 30th Anniversary Tour live album a few years earlier, and I generally meet bands reverting to strictly old material with doubt. I'm really not a fan of that kind of thing. But as we have seen, Michael stayed very active in releasing live music.

But he had just released the two best albums of his career since the early 80's and I hated to lose that momentum.

But this is a great album and video. Great performances. Great camera work and sound.

Definitely on DVD.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol
