There's a woman here in CT who mainly does the weekend weather. I'm not really a fan; I always get the impression she's waiting for the breakout gig somewhere else, and this is just a job (she has a modeling website). Most of the weatherpeople on the main state news channels are either way into it nerds, or gay men - and this isn't meant to be judgmental; something like 60% of the weathermen in our state are out gay men - with a sort of local "Al Roker" activist thing where they do the weather and then get involved in community activities and such. There is some overlap.
Anyway, she sticks out like a sore thumb. She's not a gay man, she's not a weather nerd; but lately she's been doing these field pieces lately on the late edition of the news; out at the accident scene, out at the fire, that kind of thing, and I'm curious if that's a step UP, or a step DOWN in her network news ladder climb.
