The last one: in the first Harry Potter movie they sit on the train and buy some candy from the lady. In the pic they've gained many pounds from eating way too much candy.

Noddy holder from Slade says he gets around £500,000 every single year for " Merry Christmas Everyone ".

Write a hit Christmas song that gets played everywhere on a loop *EVERYWHERE* and is on every Christmas Advert and Compilation CD - Every. Single. Year

And you'll never need to work another day in your life.

And Paul McCartney apparently gets $400,000 a year from Wonderful Christmastime. Over $15 million in total so far since 1979 from one single song.

Yeah, Christmas carols are the best one-hit-to-riches songs there are. Theme song to a popular TV show is second. There's nothing like getting a tiny check every time some local station shows a re-run of Cheers.

You’ve never noticed how when you discuss things your devices start to target you with ads for those things?

Nope.  About the only ads I see on my phone are via the small handful of stupid game apps I use, and the most common ad I see there (before I can X out of it) is one for a company that appears to sell medical scrubs (which is certainly not anything I discuss by either phone or text).

The last one: in the first Harry Potter movie they sit on the train and buy some candy from the lady.

They buy the entire cart. :lol

That definitely explains why I didn't get that.

Have you guys heard any Christmas music yet in your local supermarket?

Fortunately, no.  However I did see a display of advent calendars at Ralph's on Friday and have started hearing a commercial on the radio (I think) about starting holiday shopping early.

And Paul McCartney apparently gets $400,000 a year from Wonderful Christmastime. Over $15 million in total so far since 1979 from one single song.

That single song very nearly negates all the good he did with the Beatles.  AWFUL song.

I literally came here to say that Metallica are always the butt of jokes when Dave Fuckin Mustaine's voice is still up for grabs.

Seriously. I hate that you can't mention Dream Theater without someone going LOL LABRIE

And you wanna go - Um...have you HEARD Mustaine lately ?

And i'm talking pre - diagnosis and surgery. His voice has always been awful.

Mustaine has never had that album where he sounded godly. No. He's always been bad.

Yea, never been a fan of his singing although I don't think it holds Megadeth back enough to not like them, or at least some of their stuff.

Lars is way bigger of a name though and just such an easy target because of Napster and his drumming/timing.  It's easy pickings and honestly, I thought that meme was hilarious  :lol

Dave's relatively inoffensive. Vocally, at least. Nobody's ever going to call him a great singer, but nobody's going so blurt out "yee gods" and switch the song off, either. And while I've never been a big Megadeth fan, they have their moments of greatness, and Dave's singing fits what they do perfectly.

And in comparing him to Ulrich, Dave has always been a perfectionist. Lars, along with Hammet, often suffers from dontgiveafuckitis. He brings the ridicule on himself. I'm a big Metallica fan, and mostly indifferent to Megadeth, but I'll make the same jokes myself. And insofar as live performances go, there's just no comparison. Megadeth is an exercise in precision while Metallica plays with the wild abandon of a Jimmy Buffet cover band.

I'm here to tell you that that's very wrong.  While I don't think "yee gods" were the words I used, I regularly switched off Megadeth back in the day (I'd say 90% because of Mustaine's voice and 10% because of the shitty guitar tone).

Seems a little odd, but fair enough. I guess others don't find his vocals as benign as I do.

I'd much rather go see Metallica live and hear 4 guys playing their instruments as a band - than any of those modern metal bands where they have a click and backing tracks and the whole setlist is pre

programmed and they have the exact album guitar tone and tempo etc etc. You may as well just turn the CD up super loud in your bedroom.
