Why? Drop it on the bed.  Don't have to bend for it. Amateur.  :lol

Because I don't get to folding it until .. ever. And knowing I don't have outside urine and dog shit on my carpet from shoes I can sleep freely ( as I trip over said laundry mid night going for a leak)

Glorious.

In my youth I had 3 piles on the floor.

I wore it once.
I've got one more wear out of it.
Wash it.

Good batch!

Barrier Man reminds me of a skit they used to do on Whose Line Is It Anyway.  The scene would start with one of the participants by him/herself, and the audience would choose an "unlikely" superhero name.  The next participant would join in, and the first would give him/her a silly superhero name, and so on.  They'd all then act in character for the duration of the skit (e.g., Barrier Man would stand around blocking the others from doing things).  Probably a terrible description, but if you've seen WLIIA, you know it.

British Whose Line >>>>>>>>> American Whose Line.

Ehhhh...  I'd say Drew Carey Whose Line > British Whose Line >>>> Aisha Tyler Whose Line.  It's been a while, but I remember the British version being fairly inconsistent, and most of the best episodes featured Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie (and occasionally Wayne Brady).  The best #4 cast member was Greg Proops, and Laura Hall >>>> Richard Vranch.

The BBC version had a much better talent pool to pick from, and utilized it well. The US version basically had a cast of 5 with two of Proops, Sherwood, and Brady teaming up with Mochrie and Styles. The BBC had Mike McShane and Josie Lawrence, who may well be the best there is at this, along with Mochrie, Proops, Styles, John Sessions, Stepehen Fry, and the great Tony Slattery, who was probably my favorite of the lot. While the US version got redundant, the BBC was constantly putting together different groups.

Also, I prefer Clive Anderson's subtle wit (turns out he was Footlights, which doesn't surprise me). As for the musicians, Vranch struck me as far more versatile. He probably played ten different instruments during the show's run.

Interestingly, I've got all howevermany seasons of the BBC on my travel laptop, because it's something you can always put on and enjoy. I watched six or so episodes on the flight home last month, and enjoyed it a great deal. When it really works it's fantastic. This one really had me cracking up on the flight.

I haven't watched much of the British version only seen clips of it and what I remember was Colin had a lot more hair then. I'm sure it's funny too, it's nothing to take away from the Drew Carey version which was hilarious in its own right. Haven't seen the Aisha Taylor version so don't know. I'm the type of guy who can enjoy all versions so more funnys for meeee.

I didn't even realize that there's a British version and an American version.  If I stumble upon an episode on TV, the first thing I check is whether Colin and Ryan are on.  If they are, I watch; if not, I keep flipping channels.  I know Drew Carey was the host for a while, and I think Wayne Brady, but for me it's all about Colin and Ryan.  Those guys are so good and play off of each other so well that it's basically guaranteed to be hilarious.

Several guys other than Stiles and Mochrie did both versions (there was even a handful of seasons that the British version recorded in Hollywood).

It's been a while, so maybe I'll seek out the British version, but I do recall it being rather uneven.  One episode you get Proops, Lawrence, Slattery and McShane, but then you get Ron West, Griff Rhys Jones, Paul Merton and John Sessions.

I went and saw Wayne Brady live about 15 years ago, and his entire show was basically a one-man recreation of Whose Line.  It was absolutely hilarious.

The first two or three seasons were certainly uneven. I think it took them time to establish who the A teamers were. Lawrence and McShane were there from the beginning, but weren't really regulars until later. Really it was at its best once they had 6-8 heavyweights they could pull from.

I hadn't thought about it before, but Carey had a real advantage there. Aside from Wayne Brady, his five guys had all done the British version often enough, so he knew going in who to look for.

Also, Sessions was one of the unquestioned masters of the format. His ability to improvise in the style of authors or actors is unparalleled.

The British version was cleverer, but the American version was/is funnier. Barto's point about the British version drawing from a larger talent pool was correct, but honestly I think the fact the the American version stuck with 4-5 core performers was a strength in that the group really got to know each other and how to best play off each other.

All of its great though.

I used to watch the British version on Comedy Central way back before the US version even existed. My mom would come downstairs to see what the hell was going on because I'd be laughing so hard. But yes, I agree the British version was more inconsistent depending on who was on. The Drew Carey version was pretty good as well. Ryan and Colin and just amazing together.

Looking at the list of episodes, season ("series") 1 had 11 episodes (with two compilation episodes):

John Sessions - 11
Josie Lawrence - 6
Paul Merton - 4
Tony Slattery - 3
Archie Hahn - 2
Jimmy Mulville - 2
Stephen Fry - 2
Jonathan Pryce - 2
12 others with one episode each

Stiles made his first appearance in season 2 (in 19-friggin'-89!), was a regular starting about halfway through season 3, and was on almost every episode starting in season 4.  Mochrie was about a season behind Stiles in terms of first appearance and regular status but didn't hit every episode status until season 8.

Mochrie has appeared in every episode of the American version, and Stiles missed only two episodes.  Wayne Brady has been in every episode but two starting with season 9 in 2013 (and was in upwards of 50% of the episodes in the first eight seasons).

So I've seen enough of the show to know what you all are talking about, but... I don't find Wayne Brady or Ryan Stiles all that funny or entertaining.  They just seem silly to me.  I love Drew Carey, but most of what I've seen - limited, I grant you - is him laughing at the players, and it seems...  not staged really, but forced.   Is it worth watching?  Is there something I should be looking for that I've been missing (now, one point is, I didn't know Greg Proops was on there and I think he's hilarious).

The way I'd describe it is like improv in music. You listen to all of the improvs from LTE, and they're mostly kind of boring, until they get to that one part where they all find that perfect groove and everything comes together. Rather than 10 minutes bits where they'll usually find that grove eventually, WLiiA will have ten 2 minute bits, and maybe the magic happens, maybe it doesn't. When it does it's typically riotous, though.

I don't know what clips the others have posted (can't watch them at work), though I'm sure they're funny. The clip I posted is a good example of that, with Stiles having the two best jokes in it (though it was Mochrie that named him Leg Humping Man). See if that makes my point, and if it works for you.

The other thing to look out for is people improvising in the style of notable people. I mentioned John Sessions before, and seeing him riff in the style of notable authors is really impressive. Same with the people who could do musical numbers. For the life of me I can't figure out how people improvise songs like that (which goes for rappers, as well).
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

John Sessions - 11
Josie Lawrence - 6
Paul Merton - 4
Tony Slattery - 3

Archie Hahn - 2
Jimmy Mulville - 2
Stephen Fry - 2
Jonathan Pryce - 2

Those guys plus McShane are the ones I remember. Would have loved to see Jonathan Pryce on it. And El Barto articulated something I would never have thought of. John Sessions had something about him where, while everyone else was hysterical in their own way, he seemed like he brought a whole new dimension to each sketch.
