And wow, things are getting a lot closer after this round! A lot of you guys are neck-and-neck, no one has really pulled away with a lead either.

STANDINGS AFTER R2:

1st: Cyril - 17
Tied for 2nd: Elite + ariich - 16.5
4th: Puppies on Acid - 16
5th: TAC - 15.25
Tied for 6th: Shadow Ninja + HOF + 425 - 14.75
Tied for 9th: Tomislav + The Walrus + Stadler 14.5
Tied for 12th: Sacul + Buddyhunter1 - 14.25

Again, let me know if you notice anything off, these docs are quite large so it’s easy to miss stuff. Looking forward to the next round of submissions!

I am curious though. I almost sent As Fire Swept Clean the Earth from their Below the Lights album, and wonder if that would have scored better.

Glad you liked that one as well. The Blue Nile are a magical band that not many know about, but they made some really great music and were one of those groups that influenced a lot of other artists but never really broke through. Paul Buchanan is one of my favorite singers. Such a warm, subtle but emotive voice.

The album Hats is one of my favorite recordings. I loved your characterization of the music (wandering through the city at night in the lights and fog, etc.). That’s exactly the vibe that that whole album encapsulates. I can’t recommend it highly enough if you like Downtown Lights.

Oof for landing in last place, though the scores are all pretty close together so there might be some hope for recovery. Will send something tomorrow.

LOL a female vocalist scored one of the highest this round. I just didn't like your particular vocalist all that much

EDIT: You're right though, you can easily jump a couple places just from submitting a really strong song -- the differences aren't that large at the moment. Still haven't had a 5 yet either, that would probably shake things up quite a bit too!

Eh, I feel like it would make sense to stick to just a singular artist, keep it consistent. Though if you want to send something like that to accompany something regardless, I'd be happy to listen to it!

yeah, definitely going to have to try and check out the full release, it seems like it would have just the vibe I need for late-night work sessions, haha.

Heretic, glad you liked Stalled Armageddon. It's certainly more representative of the album than Soldier, which is the lone ballad. And I think many of the other tracks are at least as good (I had a hard time choosing which one to send), so hopefully you'll enjoy the album as a whole!

I think that's the first (and last so far) time I could ever send Devin Townsend and I'm glad the tracks did fairly alright! He's definitely quirky in a way and I can see why some people would not enjoy that as much. His output is really varied though, so there should be something you might like. I recommend listening to Ki (my favourite record of his) and you might actually enjoy the Casualties of Cool record as well, which is very different from his other stuff. Since Planet of the Apes did quite well, the album it came from might be up your alley. It's called 'Deconstruction' and it's probably the most chaotic thing he's done.

You're getting something different for Round 3!

So I've always taken the approach that you need to walk into the mouth of the beast. Well, I've never actually taken that approach, I'm too much a fraidy cat, but I'm going to here. I'm sending someone I think is a phenomenal female singer and we'll see how we do.

I'm thrilled with the score for Oasis, especially "Roll It Over"; I LOVE that vocal, I think it's one of his best, from a guy that is far more well known for his behavioral issues than his talent.

I believe that sent PMs are essentially unlimited (they are for mods anyway, but someone correct me if that's wrong for everyone else!). If that's the case for everyone then you can do what I do which is to quote reply to everyone to say thanks, and then the quoted PM gets saved in my sent items box.

You also need to make sure you have the setting turned out to save outgoing PMs by default though!
