Fail! The energy on that set is awesome! In particular, the version of TSoR that opens it up is definitely the best live version of the song, ever.

My vote (AGAIN!) is for ESL - the tracklist may be great, but it's the most lifeless and flat live recording.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I’m going with R30 again.

I get that ESL has a thin production, but it’s not just the great setlist...it’s the performance.  YYZ and side 3 alone make that album brilliant. Not to mention phenomenal performances of Jacob’s Ladder and LVS.

The Count Floyd thing is ridiculous too, but that's a really fun live show overall.

ESL again too

R30 Tour.

I missed the first few rounds ... How in the holy fucking fuck did A Show of Hands go first?  That's honestly top 3 for me.

Count Floyd makes that the best version of The Weapon EVER.

Although, I’m betting most people here did not grow up with him as a regular SCTV sketch.

How in the holy fucking fuck did A Show of Hands go first?

Bad track list and production that was too slick for its own good.

The Count Floyd thing is ridiculous too

That was such a WTF moment for me.  Seriously embarrassing, and I was glad they got rid of stuff like that and, when they brought it back, confined it to the between-sets videos.

How many versions are there?  AFAIK, it's only on the GUP video and soundtrack and, aside from two performances at the beginning of the POW tour, it was never played after the GUP tour.

Perhaps... it was just my first live Rush VHS, so it could be that bias plays a role in my love for it.

Huh...I guess it’s just that it’s my favorite Signals song (top 5 from the synth era) and that live version with the intro just takes it to the next level for me.
