Here's a graph showing the breakdown of submissions that scored 7 or greater based on heavy or non-heaviness.
This might be misleading, though, since we don't have the exact same number of heavy submissions versus non-heavy ones, so one may be overrepresented here, simply because there were more submissions to possibly get a 7 or higher. So for this next chart, I normalized the heavy/non-heavy submissions based on how many of each were submitted; i.e., this is what it would look like hypothetically if heavy and non heavy things had been submitted in equal numbers.
And here we can see non-heavy submissions are actually outperforming heavy ones, albeit not by a large margin. I think it would also be interesting to break this down further beyond heavy/non-heavy, because as it is I've just designated almost anything hard rock or heavier as 'heavy,' which may not be the most advantageous way to parse the data. I'm going to try to break it down a bit further by genre and see what that looks like, but it'll probably take a while so don't get too excited yet.
