It’s definitely better than their last offering. Inprefer Bullet Height though. It has a lot more of the PRR moments from The Dark Third sound.

That's interesting. Bullet Height to me has a lot more in common with Hammer and Anvil than it has with The Dark Third. Eupnea feels like they went back to their roots while still innovating.

Vinyl didn't arrive in the mail yet and I'm friggin angry (although of course there is no one to be angry on). But I have had this album for a month on my hard drive now but I decided to wait for the vinyl so I can make it through these last days too!

Quite a few pre-orderers in Germany received their orders from InsideOut already, since IO sends their stuff from Germany... but I ordered the Burningshed version (UK) because I wanted their limited edition

Well, I gotta suck it up and eat my previous words. After several listens, this is a phenomenal record.

I also ordered the re-issue of The Dark Third and listened to it for the first time yesterday. I love that it is essentially one long piece of music since every song flows into the next. Sometimes you don't even realise it's a new song.
After one and a half listens, it's impossible to say if I like it better than Eupnea. I love the vocal arrangements and I think they're actually even more imaginative and complex than the ones on Eupnea. This band is about melody and not about technical wankery but still all the arrangements and instrumentations are very tasty and performed well.
Side 4 of the vinyl re-issue also contains the original EP featured with the first InsideOut release from 2007 (except for one song). Once again, InsideOut doesn't disappoint with the vinyl issue. Sound is broad, transparent and there's no surface noise. Very happy with this purchase.

I actually own a 1st pressing of The Dark Third vinyl, which is 1 reason I passed on it.

Like The Perfect Element anniversary remix, I may want to try and pick it up eventually if it is available.

Eupnea's my album of the year (and the first album of theirs I listened to) but I surprisingly wasn't able to get into The Dark Third. To me there's just a huge gap in songwriting quality between the two.

I've also listened to Hammer And Anvil and while there's a bunch of filler in the middle, the sound is right up my alley and there's some real good songs, especially towards the end.
