No, Puppies is right.
Their best album is their first one (it kinda goes to shit towards the very end but the first half is so strong that it's still their best overall)

It comes down quite heavily on stylistic preferences I think. I could never properly get into either of their first two albums, although I have come round on them a little now. But the new one is more melodic and had some new PTH-style influences that I find so much more enjoyable and engaging.

I might be more forgiving of the new album if it didn’t have Century Of The Narcissist, Cracks Of Light or Ride The Illusion, those songs are all big clunkers imo and there’s not too many proper songs on that album so having three of those is kind of a problem

Cracks of Light is great, but then I like Periphery.

Those other two are on the weaker end of the album, sure, but I don't find anything particularly wrong with them and I still prefer the general sound to most of what's on the first two albums.

First Impressions

1. Some really awful vocals on this one, but other than that it’s… solid? Surprisingly plain, more than anything.

2. This is at least some degree of cheating, right? I found this pretty enjoyable and more diverse than expected, though I don’t know if it’ll be a favorite either.

3. I knew to expect the production issues on this one so I’m not surprised by them, but they do hurt what would otherwise be a pretty enjoyable sound.

4. This one’s all over the place. Strong instrumental chops, “interesting” production, okay songwriting, and some truly wretched vocals.

5. Of all the songs in this round this is probably the most exciting sounding one to me. Reminds me a lot of a band I’ve been really into recently.

6. My initial reaction was to go “I said no djent” but this actually has a good heavy tone and is very tasteful and balanced. I’d struggle to say it flows well or has strong melodic hooks though.

7. Completely different from what I was expecting, but what I was expecting was way worse than what I got, so I’m not complaining.

9. One of the better core sounds of the round, but like… structurally it’s an absolute mess, it feels like two or three different songs with zero transition between them.

yeah @ Indi! for the record the only faith no more i'm really familiar with is Epic (which I like) and uuhhh I was sent them once or twice in past roulettes I think but I don't really remember which songs (they were ok at best I guess) but this one didn't really sound like anything I've heard from them before (also it was instrumental, which I especially didn't expect)
