I've just read up on Backstreet Boys btw and apparently their first Russian concerts were in 2014. End of 90s/beginning or 2000s? I was like 7 years old and we were poor af. I'm not even sure we owned a TV back then.

I legit can't name even one song by them. :lol

Not even "I want It That Way?"

If you were thrown off a boat in the ocean you would hear that song first in 1999 before hitting the water.

My mind is blown. I Want It That Way is a fucking great song. Go check it out Ruslan!  :lol

Just listened to it and I might have heard it somewhere in the past 10 years as the chorus seems somewhat familiar, but I've never consciously listened to the whole song.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

If you watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine at all, it features in a particularly funny scene.

Man I'm really Tim in this fucking thread. I know what Brooklyn Nine-Nine is but with my list of things to watch I will never get to watch it in the next few years. So no, I haven't watched it.

Also, Everybody (Backstreet's Back)? I'm on the third minute and I've never heard it at all.

I mean it seems like comedy-cop-show from this scene and I usually like to watch something a bit more serious, but I'll keep it in mind if I'm in the mood for something lighter, thank you Rich!

Yeah no worries. For what it's worth, in general I'm the same (I watch very few sitcoms and tend to much prefer drama), and B99 kept getting recommended to me and I kept putting it off going "yeah ok, maybe sometime". But I got completely hooked when I eventually got round to watching it - there's something about it that balances comedy, heart-warming-ness and the occasional bit of thoughtful social comedy that hits just the right spot. Not saying you'd feel the same, just that's what my experience was.

Anyway, we're getting off topic, this is clearly the Backstreet Boys thread.

My brother and I used to hate watch Backstreet Boys videos back in the day, but unlike ‘N Sync (who were truly and utterly terrible), I kind of liked a few of their songs and at least thought they had some vocal talent. I Want it That Way, Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely, probably a few others I’ve forgotten about.

I play I Want It That Way almost every time I sit at my piano. It's so fun  :lol

N*Sync has two good songs imo: Bye Bye Bye and Tearin' Up My Heart. But they went harder on the corny hip hop sound I think. TUMH's verses are awful, but the hook is fierce

Is mine 12?

No, because Sacul already claimed it. :P

1. And people say the metal I listen to is Disney music. WTF?
2. I wish I had some weed for this.
3. I really wish I had some weed for this.
4. This is quaint and pleasant; one of these is not like the others - I just hope the others are growers [HOF - Sweet Billy Pilgrim]
5. This is epic and gorgeous and one of these sounds like it should play in This Is The End when the Backstreet Boys are doing a choreographed dance in Heaven [Evermind - Enigma]
6. I have definitely heard one of these groovy songs before, and it's great - I just hope the others are growers [Indi - Stevie Wonder]
7. The variety of this artist really impresses me, and the amount of electronics caught me off guard. [Elite - Ulver]
8. I think doubling down on your strategy from round 1 was a good idea [wolfking - Icehouse]
9. What a wonderful voice. [Stadler - Elvis Presley]
10. Part of this sounds like Sonic the Hedgehog, part of it sounds like I should be listening to it at a rave, but the whole package is delightful
11. I bet you cheated on tests in school, too, you clever bastard! [Buddy - Revo (Bravely Default OST)]
12. Way more fun than your last submission - nice variety and good beats. [Sacul - Justice]
13. Very enjoyable, and I hope to experience this in context sooner than later [Cyril - Lena Raine (Celeste OST)]
14. Best lyrics of the round and it's not even close [Big Hath - Jason Isbell]
15. I think I grew a mullet and a taste for Bud Light listening to this, but I'm not complaining, he's very fun to listen to [Podaar - Vince Gill]
16. This music makes me wish I had a modicum of dancing skill in my body. This is amazing.
17. Quirky, with a hint of Lady Gaga. What a voice!
18. This is better than the other stuff I've heard from this artist! [ariich - Submotion Orchestra]
19. There's a Toto vibe in here that I really like [king - Joe Jackson]

Honestly, I have no clue as to how Tim would feel about Vince Gill's music. I'd guess he'd not want to listen to it out of choice, but some of these "memes" are pretty harsh. I can't imagine anyone having that strong of opposition to these songs.

This was it.

Not particularly harsh other than to say I didn't care for it.

Fun Fact: When I was in my 20's I used to hear all the time how I looked like Vince Gill. Strangers would come up to me and my wife wherever we were and say it.
