Some of my favorite music ever made is game music. I could throw up a list soon.

Let me know if you do! I would absolutely not be in this to win this but sending music from my favorite video game OSTs is very low effort so I'd do it if you'd like to have me.

Celeste looks like a pretty cool game, actually.

I will put something together and sent tonight, probably.

Edit: Also, since I'm thinking about it, what's your feeling on indie stuff, Katt? Does indie rock trend too close to rock? Like say Modest Mouse as a point of comparison.

Hooray! Buuuuddy and Podaar, you're more than welcome to join.

However, Beethoven is banned. I have an 87 CD set of all his works, have heard the majority of them at least once, and play his piano literature. :)

Eating dinner right now but no rush, Buddy, the sign up period will still go on for a few days, so whenever I get the list made (tonight/tomorrow) feel free to make your call.

Yeah indie rock stuff is weird. I'll just make the call and say... maybe. Unless it's really unconventional, maybe avoid it. Modest Mouse is kinda in that gray area from what I know of them. But like Silversun pickups... ineligible, even with their weird new stuff.

UFO is not eligible, unless they have several wildly unconventional songs that don't really fit the metal/rock mold. All I've heard tells me they're a straight up classic rock group.

I'm already a massive fan of Motoi Sakuraba. :neverusethis: But uh, yeah, don't send me a metal video game tune. I'm not really sure what a prog video game tune that isn't metal sounds like, so... uh. Try me?  :lol I doubt there's video game prog that sounds like prog but hell I could be wrong. If I am, you'll find out and I'll ask for something else  :hat

But uh, yeah, don't send me a metal video game tune.

There's one OST in particular that may be considered metal (it's an extremely video game-y type of metal if it is) that's so good that I'm sending it to you anyways. If you reject it I'll just send something else. :lol

EDIT: Sent for round 1 for a game I'm pretty sure you haven't played (not the OST I'm describing above)

So most of my favorite game music comes from the SNES/N64/GameBoy era of music, almost entirely from Nintendo system games. It's no coincidence that all of these are among my very favorite games ever made too.

Absolute all-time greatest game soundtracks imo, still listen to all of these today:
- Snowboard Kids 1 & 2
- Chrono Trigger
- literally any Zelda game (specifically Ocarina, Majora, Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, Oracles, and Link's Awakening)
- Golden Sun 1 & 2 (Motoi Sakuraba  :heart )
- Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 (Sakuraba again :heart )
- Pokemon Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, and Ruby/Sapphire
- Harvest Moon 64
- Quest 64 (yes, I am serious)
- Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine
- all of the first 10 FFs but specifically 1, 2, 6, 9, and 10
- Donkey Kong Country (not 2, not 3 - the original)
- F-Zero GX
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- Street Fighter II
- Cave Story
- Maple Story
- Banjo-Kazooie
- The Last Remnant

So, most PlayStation games... not familiar with the soundtracks, even if I've played the games (and I've played a lot of them). Ditto for Microsoft. There are a lot of PS RPGs out there, even by my favorite composers, that I've never played, or whose music I just don't remember for one reason or another, maybe I played through them with headphones on listening to Toto :lol

:lol It's an online RPG. I played it for many years, OBSESSIVELY. It basically controlled a few summers of my life from sunrise to sunset.

This is a very peaceful, beautiful tune from it. It's my morning alarm and ringtone, actually.
