I just YouTubed a song from this Nikki whatshername..........why am I playing this roulette again?  :lol

I YouTubed a live performance of Something New and I need a cigarette now. I am in love

I needed some hard liquor.  :lol

Ill bet Mike would be a hard licker!

@ Wolfking... never thought you were being salty, just tossing shots around as we all are.
If I can do it, it's idiot proof.

"Really corny but really fun" pretty much sums up Celldweller as a whole. :lol Glad I picked The Lucky One, that one was closest to the chopping block.

Yeah man that's a banger. Something about it is really infectious.

I'd definitely recommend giving the full album it's from a try - though if you do I'd suggest listening to the deluxe version over the regular version. The flow of the album is completely different between them, with the deluxe version having a way better song sequence and smoother transitions between the songs.

For some stupid reason the version on Spotify says it's the deluxe edition but it's just the regular version with instrumentals... the actual deluxe edition is here: https://celldweller.bandcamp.com/album/wish-upon-a-blackstar-deluxe-edition

Way better cover art, too. :lol

Holy shit what the hell is this, Tim? I got half a mind to have you send a real submission. There's your impression.  :lol what the fuck

EDIT: Just finished the second song. Laughed the entire 3 minutes. The combination of TAC hyping it up, the song itself, I'm in tears.

Damn, was already expecting a low score after the comparisons but Im still more disappointed than I expected with this, I was quite confident about Massive Attack. This gives me a feeling my next round may also do poorly :lol

Based on your thoughts, I can give you a handful of tracks youd like across all albums, but it seems like a waste if you dont dig their core downtempo/chill sound.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

I hesitated putting that first song first because it does come off as jokey, but halfway through it hits a cool funky groove.

The rest are going to earworm you all day! Wait till you get to the last song.

Thanks for the write-up!

I definitely agree that jazz can be hard to get in to, but once you get an idea of how most standards are structured, it becomes easier to listen to it and also you'll know what to listen for. It's definitely true that the more you hear, the more you understand it. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless :)

The way I think of most jazz is 'okay here's a few seconds of a motif, let's go take a ride into Solo Canyon for a couple hours, okay that's it'   :lol Been actually studying the fundamentals of jazz piano lately partially due to this roulette because I want to finally play some real jazz piano or be able to jazz improv whenever I want to, and it's daunting but super fun. Whole other beast from classical. Never been good at thinking of extended chords never mind their inversions so I've got some academic practice to do :<

Well, looks like Chad's moved from last place up to 7th and had two round winners in a row. I'd think anybody who isn't currently ahead of him would want to be Chad right now  :lol
