How do you even do that? Was it on the laptop that went kaput?

It was, but I was also working on it in short bursts at my work computer. I thought I had saved my progress on it and left it open overnight, but then I came in this morning and everything was closed and Microsoft was trying to update Edge, not sure what happened or why, but I lost it. Silly me. Hence why I may just buy a Chromebook since those can fulfill all my laptop needs these days.

Thankfully I've heard the music so much that re-writing the results won't be that much of a hassle, and I type very quickly... it's just a bit tedious.

I saw a draft of your write up on the Cloud, right next to the J-Law nudes.  It was nice of you to give me a 9.8 for the songs I sent.   Cool beans!   :)

Google Docs are your friend.

I almost always send the documents to myself via Facebook/email/Google Drive. The one night I did not, this happens. I swear to god my luck is determined by some cosmic deity from the fourth dimension who knows exactly how to bone me in ways hitherto unimaginable.

Google docs save automatically and don't need to be sent back and forth - you can access and edit them from any computer and even your phone if you get the app. Not trying to be preachy, just letting you know you'll likely avoid situations like this in the future if you use them. :)

Oh, I've known about Google Docs for years. I just refuse to use them because of who I am as a person. Bad habits from the mid 90s die hard. I still use a Winamp skin from 2002 and a CD player in my car despite also using the Bluetooth. I don't like change :lol

Seriously going to try to have them up tonight but it's not looking likely. Then again I said that last week and I squeezed them out. So no matter what they'll be up by tomorrow night. Send for round 5 if you want, if you aren't gonna be on much this weekend :)

I am all ready to post results, but I have noticed something. I do not check what anybody's scores are until I have the write-ups finished and ordered in the order I score them. What I've noticed though is that with so many players, there is a score gap that is widening rapidly. With the current scores, there is a 2.8 point gap between first and last place. With so many participants, I'm wondering if anybody would like to see a 'squish' - I would add up the scores this round, then divide them in 2, effectively cutting the gap in half. I would maybe do it again at the end of round 6.

I offer this because I've struggled to come up with a decent scoring system for so many people, I guess, and the huge gap means it'll be impossible for a lot of people to catch up with others, and I don't want to do a squish without asking first. For example there's a sizeable gap between last place and the person just above them as well as another noticeable gap between two other sets of players. The scores in the results would remain as is, I would just do the squish once (now) and then once again 2 rounds from now. That's it.

So yeah feel free to chime in. Results will be posted sometime tomorrow after chewing on this for a while.

Like I mean part of me thinks "well that's how the game is played, you send worse stuff you get left behind" but I pick bad scoring systems  :lol

a 2.8 gap between first and last place is actually a very, very small gap and your scoring probably needs to have a wider range, not a smaller one  :lol

just as an example, for the two roulettes where i've used a 0-10 cumulative scoring system;
score gap of 12 at the end of round 10
score gap of 13 at the end of round 10

your 2.8 scoring range is over a third of the way into the roulette, so if you follow the same course it'll be about 7.5 by the end of round 8 (and would come out to about 9.3 if you were running a 10 round roulette)

I mean it's fairly wide for what it is but frankly if I made it wider the people on the low end are royally screwed and the ones up top are gonna coast to the finish.  :lol

EDIT: Oh actually I do see what I can do to adjust them properly hmmm

Personally I don't care about scores at all and only play to send music I like, so either way works for me.

But if my scores keep doing down I will send you some really shitty stuff.
