Ocarina anyone?
« on: September 06, 2009, 10:25:01 PM »
I just started learning how to play the Ocarina a couple of weeks ago. I have a 6 hole pendant in soprano G with a 12 hole alto C transverse on its way. Any one else play?

Its so weird you posted this, because I was JUST looking up how much an ocarina costs after seeing someone playing one on youtube. I really want to start playing. Is it that difficult? The first instrument I learned to play was a recorder, and though I was never that great at it, I hope it will help a little bit with this wind instrument.

I got an Ocarina once, but every time I played it it would either rain or I'd get horses charging me down :(
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

And on the 8th day, God created Dream Theater. God then proceeded to rock out with his cock out.

It is one of the easiest instruments I've played.  Here is a clip of me on my second day of playing: https://www.jreydesign.com/misc/music/jrey/oot_song_of_time.mp3

Here's a couple of places to buy from:

https://www.focalink.com.tw/ Really good quality clay ocarinas.

You can also buy some focalinks through https://www.songbirdocarina.com/ They also have some nice original designs. This is where I bought both of my ocarinas.

https://www.mountainsocarina.com/ They make some really nice sounding inline ocarinas.

https://hindocarina.com/ This company specializes in wooden ocarinas.

https://www.maparam.kr/ These are really high end clay and wooden ocarinas.

Indeed. I plan to learn the main theme on my alto C ocarina when it arrives.

Really? ha ha. I find that to be one of the least inspiring Zelda pieces. Oh well to each their own.
