Should the max number of artists in the EP round be increased from 4 to 5?

Yes that would be much better and Cyril is very attractive.
3 (14.3%)
No that's a terrible idea, Cyril should be stoned.
5 (23.8%)

I know everything on Elite's already too so I dunno if I need to actually listen to the EP

I could not find Misthyrming on your RYM, but good to know that then, I'll scrap them from my list of possibilities :lol (that is, if I make it through round 1)

I really like the variety of approaches taken. Broadly in four styles:

- no theme but all from a similar genre/style/mood.
- a conceptual theme that connects the songs.
- a thematic narrative, but not a story.
- a story.

EP first impressions
Two impressions per submission. Have fun!

1.   Powerful, proggy and very emotive. [Evermind]
2.   This seems like a bit of a mixed bag. [Lethean]
3.   Your good run seems to be continuing. [Sacul]
4.   I'm enjoying the fun, energetic metal here. [wolfking]
5.   A very nice selection of pretty emotive prog. [king]
6.   There's some gorgeous, emotional stuff here. [Tomi]
7.   The coherence and storytelling is rather great. [Puppies]
8.   The emotional narrative here is quite captivating. [Shadow]
9.   There's an enjoyable, intense groove to most of this. [Train]
10.   It reminds me of a couple of other artists I rather enjoy. [Jingle]
11.   I think this might be the best thing you've ever sent me. [Luoto]
12.   There's a really consistent vibe throughout this whole EP. [Nekov]
13.   It's over-the-top, but I can't help grinning from ear to ear. [Katt]
14.   One of these artists I'm digging a lot more than I expected. [LordCost]
15.   Nothing out of the ordinary but damn it's really lovely stuff. [Nekov]
16.   Not yet convinced by the ending, but the rest sounds excellent. [Buddy]
17.   The storytelling and general build-up here seem pretty magical. [Indi]
18.   Almost every single thing about this is EXACTLY what I expected. [Katt]
19.   The theme is fun, though might be at risk of backfiring somewhat. [lonestar]
20.   There's a blend of upbeat and morbid here that sounds compelling. [Cyril]
21.   Everything sounds enjoyable and talented but not much stands out. [lonestar]
22.   I'm not sure I love all of it, some of the tracks are maybe a little dull. [Tomi]
23.   Moody, weighty, but actually pretty accessible and really immersive. [Elite]
24.   This was a bit more varied than I expected, and the guitar work is nice. [Stadler]
25.   It's all perfectly enjoyable, but perhaps a bit middle-of-the-road to my tastes. [Stadler]
26.   Overall, there's some really good, crunchy stuff, but the quality isn't consistent. [LordCost]
27.   There's a lovely ambience to half of this, and a great energy to most of the rest. [Sacul]
28.   Half of it sounds pretty awesome, although the other half is a lot less interesting. [wolfking]
29.   The flow feels kind of disjointed, but I do love the theme that binds it all together. [romdrums]
30.   One of these artists sounds so much better than my previous experience with them. [Elite]
31.   Nice mix of epicness, atmosphere and groove that somehow doesn't feel disjointed. [Buddy]
32.   The consistency in both quality and sound here really makes it feel like a genuine EP. [Luoto]
33.   There's a couple of duds, but the rest is very cool and kind of unique to this roulette. [romdrums]
34.   The middle part of this is solid enough, but the beginning and end are really fantastic. [TAC]
35.   Some of this was kind of unexpected, some of it less so, and it's a really interesting mix. [Cyril]
36.   There are some great moments but it doesn't sound as consistent or coherent as I'd like. [Lethean]
37.   The music is nicely theatrical and it all sounds at least pretty good, some of it even great. [Indi]
38.   There's a really coherent vibe to all this, but enough variety to keep it interesting as well. [king]
39.   It's fairly heavy and stylistically consistent, but there's enough variety too to keep it interesting. [TAC]
40.   Stylistically nothing particularly unusual about it, but it's highly enjoyable and kind of bombastic. [Jingle]
41.   It's very varied, which is exciting although after one listen I'm not sure how well it all fits together. [Shadow]
42.   This is some ferocious stuff – I dig the intensity but I'm not sure all the music is grabbing me so far. [Puppies]
43.   There's an element I'm not yet sure about on its own, but it seems to balance with the rest of the EP. [Train]
44.   There's a nice variety of styles but it's incredibly consistent tonally, which makes it feel very convincing. [Evermind]
