Round 5 first impressions1.
[Tomi – Stoned Jesus]2. Great hooks and energy.
[romdrums – The Intersphere]3. Delicate and quite beautiful.
[Katt – Frédéric Chopin]4. A lot of mood and a lot of groove.
[Sacul – Saltillo]5. Warm, emotive, really rather good.
[Train – A.A. Williams]6. Poppy, quirky, a lot of fun all round.
[Nekov – Bend Sinister]7. Nice style but the hooks are lacking.
[Lethean – Almah]8. I… don’t really know what to make of this.
[Buddy – Dir En Grey]9. I have absolutely no idea what is going on.
[Puppies – Estradasphere]10. Madder than I expected, and all the better for it.
[Indi – Gino Vannelli]11. You win the prize for most accurate description ever.
[wolfking – Norther]12. Do I dare suggest that this sounds solid but unremarkable?
[Luoto – Noumena]13. Each track starts only ok but gets more interesting as it goes.
[LordCost – Cave In]14. Vocals aren’t the strongest but otherwise an unexpected joy.
[Cyril – Daniel Olsén, Jonathan Eng & Linnea Olsson]15. Really cool music, possibly let down slightly by the production.
[Elite – Messa]16. A solid enough example of a genre that I’m extremely familiar with.
[lonestar – Deadly Circus Fire]17. Another solid example of the genre that I’m extremely familiar with.
[Evermind – Voices from the Fuselage]18. A cracking example of the genre that, again, I’m really very familiar with.
[Jingle – M.I.GOD.]19. An excellent example of a genre that doesn’t feature much in my collection.
[TAC – Netherbird]20. Slightly cheesy in the vocal department but that doesn’t stop it being a lot of fun.
[king – Freaky Jelly]21. This could have been risky, but instead it’s wonderfully unique and I love it already.
[Shadow – Cloud Cult]22. Great combination of punchy and catchy – liking it a lot and more than I thought I might.
[Stadler – The Panic Channel]
