I'm glad Arcane and Ereb Altor both did well, but Lordcost and TAC are both dead to me now 

I sent Arcane this round after seeing Evermind commenting on the 'What album are you listening to' thread and I thought Arcane could not last until last round. Initially I wanted to save it for last round since it was a super safe submission and that it was a forgotten band that noone would have thought of.
Didn't know a third person could have sent it too

I read again the Evan Carson write up of last round, now I get why Jim Grey is at the top of your roulette. Didn't know about that collaboration.
If you liked Unturning more than triple H song, I could have scored even higher with some other songs of first disc like Promise (Part 2)

Can I use more than 4 artists if I want to include a short intro/outro/interlude (under 2 minutes) by an artist that isn't otherwise featured on the EP?

Hmm. Ok, yes, short intros/interludes for flow purposes will be exempt from the rules on number of artists and banned list (i.e. you could use an intro or interlude from a banned artist). So it can help your flow score but won't be considered for the music quality score. I'll update the OP.

Final opinion: Seriously, how do you keep finding stuff that I'm lukewarm on at first but really grow on me.

Good question, I recall having a similar first impression when I first heard them. My next submission might be yet another instance of this

EDIT: On a related note, I am wondering if I should be regretting revealing the extra minute loophole, as this round already has more 20-21 minute submissions than the first two rounds combined.

it's amazing how picking one song would be easy (for reference - second song on my La Dispute playlist, third song on my glass beach playlist, last song on my round 3 playlist) and sending an album would also be easy (though in part because two of the three artists i've sent so far only have one proper album  ) but picking out a set of songs can be really hard

Well, I'm counting the one-song rule in that.

Mine is 16 or so minutes. I considered adding one more song and decided against it, it's perfect as it is.

I should note that from the first two rounds, there's no correlation between submission length and scores. The lowest average scores have been at the extremes (the single long songs, and the shortest submission but that was nothing to do with duration), and everything in between has been averaging similarly.

This is an interesting observation. Personally I've usually found it hard to send a single song, because I normally want to give a sense of what an artist is like and one song can't usually do that. So I think I'd find something like this a little easier, but appreciate not everyone will.

Rich, I love the idea of sending 10-20 minutes of one artist. I think when I set up my last two roulettes, this was my original idea. I ended up doing something else, but this was always the genesis.

Thanks Tim, yeah I'm delighted with how it's going so far. I thought your EP roulette was amazing and did consider doing something similar, but I wanted to keep it simple (although apparently not for Cyril ).
