Blegh. Disappointed, but still not too bad of a score. Despite the lyrics being entirely in Japanese, there's something about the band's writing and the vocalist's delivery that packs in so much emotion for me, so I'm a bit sad that didn't get through to you. I'd still recommend checking the band out further, especially the two albums covered by those songs. Their albums also tend to be growers - their two most recent ones I thought were just okay at first but they both clicked hard after a handful of listens.

Hoping on the people above me tanking hard in the EP round to have any chance of winning this thing.

Yeah I imagine that scores of 7.8-7.9 I'll generally still mostly check out, so I'll make sure I do in this case.

I appreciate my write-up isn't very helpful.

I do enjoy the madness, and it's all super-entertaining which is why you still got a solid score (in general terms). I think it's just a liiiiiittle too mad for my tastes. Each track is in a completely different genre, so while I really enjoy them, I don't get any sense of musical identity. If that makes sense.

It's not something that typically scores especially high in my roulettes, so I don't know how you've managed two in the same roulette, but they're both excellent.

Fair enough. I mean the rest of their music incorporates even more genres. Their last album, Palace of Mirrors, is probably their most focused, but it's still all over the map.

I mean, I've rated piano works by Beethoven and Rachmaninov 4.5 stars on RYM, and 5 stars in the case of Rach's piano concertos, so it was always a safe bet that it would at least score pretty well.

But yeah as I've said before, it's impossible to know whether something similar will rate nearly as high.
