With the release of Human :II: Nature, I decided that Nightwish would be the next band that I run through the league format. I'm looking to start this sometime in May, most likely when the Haken season has concluded.

There will be 112 Nightwish songs. Every song from the studio albums as well as most of the unreleased songs. We will have a 25 Week regular season followed by a 64 song Championship Tournament.

So feel free to spend the next few weeks digesting the new album, as well as brushing up on the classics, and exploring the unreleased songs.

We could have a Six Degrees kind of debate about All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World, and wether it's a single suite or it's made up of separate songs, but I won't hold it against you to have been able to reach a perfect number of partecipating songs that suits better the League format

I wonder which songs will be the "black shirts" here, the ones with 0 victories. Off the top of my head there's no Nightwish song so badly atrocious that we can be sure nobody's gonna vote for it. Probably the lesser known non-album tracks will have a hard time.

Also, might I add that, while it's just barely a combination of the alphabetical order and there being so far only a single match which any song can potentially lose, it's a weird effect to see two landmark songs such as Wish I Had an Angel and Wishmaster at the very bottom of the list

And while two defeats in a row can happen to everyone, with the complicity of the alphabet it's weird to see Wish I Had an Angel as the "very last" song!

From 36 to 25, the leadership group thins down, as it was obviously to be expected.

New album songs that manage to stay in that group are Endlessness and Procession.

Very happy to see also two songs from Wishmaster up there: a personal favorite, She is My Sin, and a song nobody appears to remember about, Crownless, but that I find so catchy.

At the bottom, Wish I had An Angel, condamned by the alphabet, continues to be the "very last" song, who would have thought!

Little to no pruning at the top; from 25 to 22 leading. At the bottom 6 songs instead left the black shirt slot.

I know it's too early to draw judgements, but I expect at least The Crow, the Owl, and the Dove, My Walden and Our Decades in the Sun to catch a break. And also Over the Hills and Far Away which is just great, but I guess it suffers from being a cover. When in doubt, people will go for an original Nightwish song.

Not much changed, the leading group only lost one song.

New album moment: Procession and Endlessness started at the top, but now they've fallen behind the trio of Pan, How's the Heart? and Shoemaker which are, at 5-1, the best performers from the latest album.

The bottom has Tribal, only song off the new album to never catch a break so far, and a bunch of B-sides, a cover, instrumentals (ironically considering how strong DT and Metallica instrumentals do) and other random album tracks that evidently aren't exactly fan favorites.

Each Nightwish singer has at least a song at the bottom, and at least a song at the top.
