Joe Satriani  , ( wait for it ... )  " Summer Song "

This was mine haha.

Seriously, I hate summer so no songs really give me good thoughts and vibes for that time of year.  This is always the first one that comes to mind.

One song kicks off summer better than any other, that being 'School's Out'

add in 'It's Hot Tonight'

Reminders of summer:  most Van Hagar songs, and then:

'Hot Fun In The Summertime' and 'Higher' - Sly and the Family Stone
'Summer in the City' - Lovin' Spoonful
'Saturday In The Park' - Chicago
'Out In The Country' - Three Dog Night
'Roll With The Changes' - REO Speedwagon
'Fool For The City' - Foghat
'The Way of The World' - Genesis
'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' - Tears For Fears
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
'London Town C'mon Down' - Roger Taylor of Queen (hard to stay below 80MPH when hearing that on the expressway)
'Uptown Girl' - Billy Joel

I have to go with the most obvious artist, but not the most obvious song. I'd hate to be that obvious:

Van Halen - Summer Nights

VH-Beautiful Girls

Honestly, I could list about 75 Van Halen songs in this thread. :lol  They are very much a summer band for me, in part because their music always had that "partying or having fun in the summer" vibe, and in part because they are in that handful of bands I saw numerous times at our outdoor venue back in the day in the summer, so I always think of the summer now when I listen to them.  :hat

Nothing springs ( :P ) to mind for me, I don't often seem to associate songs with seasons for some reason, aside from maybe winter.

So I'll go with one where the title does the job for me: Summer - Vivaldi from The Four Seasons

Adding a couple and replying to a few above.

Van Halen-saw them in the winter, so there's that association, but the tunes are great as well for blaring with the windows down. A couple jump to mind...
'Dance The Night Away', 'Intruder/Oh Pretty Woman' and 'Dancing in the Streets' (along with the original by Martha and the Vandellas).  Same goes with The Cars, epecially 'Magic'. "Summer, summer, summer......'

one last one for me...Queen's 'Keep Passing The Open Windows'

(btw...this distraction is proving just that.  Thanks for the idea and letting me play along.  This will be a fun set of tracks to reference later on).

Day 4 - A song that reminds you of someone you'd rather forget

The way this is phrased is interesting.  There isn't really anyone who has been in my life that I'd "rather forget."

In 1990-91, I had a girlfriend, and about the only things we ever did was go out for dinner, rent movies from Blockbuster, and go to a bowling alley that was basically next door to her apartment complex to sing karaoke in the bar.  We were two of several regulars, and there are a ton of songs that were sung there that remind me of her (although most of them aren't songs I'd hear in my average life):

Angel of the Morning - Juice Newton
King of the Road - Roger Miller
Delta Dawn - Bette Midler (??)
Sherrie - The Four Seasons (??)

Also, most of the songs that were on the Phil Collins live album "Seriously" (or whatever it was called) remind me of her because we listened to that album a lot.

I Saw Red by Warrant reminds me of a different ex-girlfriend (although I still really like that song).

Sounds a lot like the loss of a friendship that was once very important to me.

Alive in Chains: Don't Follow and The Beach Boys: Sloop John B remind me of "the worst trip I've ever been on." Actually the singular worst year of my life. I don't necessarily associate that with a person, but I wanted to post this anyway.
