Nothing earth-shattering here.  The warm-up time he devotes to this is inspiring.

Looking at the headline for this interview then the one for the Gene Simmons interview below it...there are two different types of musicians...
People figured out that the white thing that comes out of cows' titties could be drunk, and the relation between sweet desires and women's bellies growing up for 9 months. It can't be THAT hard to figure out how a trumpet works.”

I dunno about that - I kinda got the impression that he has always warmed up before shows, altho it may be more crucial now than in the past.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Yeah...pretty much any of the home video releases that has pre-show footage has a 20 second scene of the camera operator walking into a room where JM is practicing, and he completely ignores the camera.

yeah, i agree with this - I'm sure that I remember when Derek was in the band him saying that he was the only musician he ever knew who used to warm down after a show as well!

Yeah, he may have just wanted to in the past and he may still want to, but he might be in trouble at this point if he didn't warm up before a three hour show.
