It's only a week until release though so this actually isn't bad. There's no album that doesn't leak a week or two before release (sometimes more) unless we're talking indie artists who put their music up on bandcamp themselves.

Dude... As much as I don't get Tool's music, their art has always blown my mind. That is one of the coolest packages I've ever seen for an album. Are they still using Alex Grey? It looks like it in spots.

Good luck. The physical sold out pretty much everywhere it was available for pre-order. Unless they have more stock ready for the release date, I have a feeling this might be hard to come by. Heck, even as someone who got a pre-order in, I am not 100% confident I will actually get it.

As for the unboxing, that was quite the manhandling of an expensive product. I was afraid the dude was going to rip things.

Fuck, if I was this kids Dad I would give him a clip around the earhole and never let him touch it again.  Kids these days have no respect or value for money.  The way he handled this thing was hard to watch.

The packaging looks great, the handling of it did not! I'm glad I preordered the physical edition. Hopefully Barnes and Noble deliver, never ordered anything through their site before.

Reviews are mixed so far. A couple are raving about it while
others say It's nothing new or exciting. Soon enough I'll make
my own judgement.

So I couldn't resist and downloaded the leak since I won't be home to enjoy the full release when it hits my door. So far I'm enjoying it comes off very dense much like tools other albums. Mainly lateralus and 10,000 days. I will say Danny Carey is a monster as always. He continuously is one of the most unique drummers in modern music.

The power went out in my house last week while I was drinking and getting ready to watch a movie. Thank Crom my phone was fully charged so I decided to continue drinking and listen to some Tool. I forgot how good Laterallus is. I'll be checking out this new album fo show.

If you want a 30 second preview of the songs, you can go on japanese amazon since its friday there now. It was nearly impossible to get any sense of the songs though, lol.

If anyone comes across a decent-quality image of the cover art without text, could you do us a favor and post it here? It's annoying that all the ones that have been posted on the internet so far have text, since like with all the previous albums, that's just a sticker / sleeve on the physical edition.

I will save formal thoughts for tomorrow, but I will say wow. This is a whole different level. I thoroughly enjoy what I have heard, but its way more introspective and slow burn than previous albums.

And I will leave it at that until tomorrow.

B&N has now set my order status to processing. The arrival date still lists it as Sept 6. I guess it's a waiting game for now. And if the hurricane hits us next week it might be a longer wait.
