Stratovarius is the poster child for generic metal.

Y'all are wrong. It's not your fault. It's okay.  :lol
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

I will say this as an observer and part time participant in this roulette...

The bar for roulettes has now been set so high that any future roulette is basically moot lol

In my opinion the best roulette ever done  :metal

You're too kind, J.

I thank you for the praise, and for giving me the cue to say now a couple of things I can gladly cut from the final writeup (in the works as we speak).

This was a lot of fun because terrific people wanted / needed to have lots of fun and joined with that goal; it can be done again at any time and by anyone, with such premises. All I did is stealing a 30 years old idea from Pat Patterson, poking at people blessed with great taste and humour, and being deemed a non-essential worker by pandemic laws.

I am 100% positive I'm the one who had the most fun, and I thank you all.

I was forgetting, I like generic metal. What my writeup history says is I have problems with generic DT-based progressive metal and with try-hard catchy modern metal.

Would you believe I've been sent both in this last round?

Prospekt does have another song that I thought had a bit more breathing space.  ;D

I don’t find them generic at all. I think they’re pretty strong.

Macho Man vs normal decent metal-head fellow, mano a mano!

Fellas, you better click here!

“Look, Gene! Mr VIndi McMahon is getting into the ring! What do you think?”

“What an insufferable ponce!”

“That's a given. What I gene mean, Mean Gene, is … what do you think is he going to do?”

“Silence, peons! … Is this focking thing on? Ok, right … Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, are we having a good time? Feel free to cheer and answer as if Slaughter isn't there with mace and taser, by all means. Good.

RJandy and TAC, you've climbed this silly mountain of bullcrap and showed the world what resilience, dumb luck, and blackmailing me with compromising pics is all about. You're both winners in my eyes (and please burn those focking pics), but gladiators code demands only one of you survives. Tough titties.

You are too tired to lift a newspaper, forget a human being, so we're making this last bout a “last man standing” match. I am confident I don't have to explain what that means. Now fight, because I focking hate ado!”

They face each other:

“Are you ready for this, man?”

“Feel lucky, punk?”

“Please, stop it”

“My name is Inigo Montoya ...”

“Cut it off, man!”

“I proclaim this the summer of George!”

“Jesus Christ ...”

“Luke, I am your father”

“What in the fucking fuck …?”

“Name's Snake”

“ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?”

“Winter is coming”

“I can't believe this shit ...”

“I'm only seventeen. You ain't seen love, ain't seen nothing like me”

* flop *

“Oooooooooooh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

Or, in a nutshell:

The Pros:

TAC's tune – Prospekt | The Great Awakening - is waaaaaay more technical, articulated, and features a couple of quite impressive guitar solos; lonestar's tune – Incura | Disable Everything -  is a focking mean earworm with genuine classic hard rock spunk/angst, and features the kind of over-dramatic singing that got Be Calm top marks a couple of rounds ago.

The Cons:

TAC's tune is DT inspired upper echelon gen pop, lollygags for too long, and has not likable choir keyboards and a vocalist with range but on an emergency ventilator; lonestar's tune is young man metal upper echelon gen pop, repeats itself too much, and has not likable up-to-date in your face production.

If I had to rank these songs' respective chord charts and sheet music, TAC would have won, but I'm more music user than scholar in this context, and I can't stop singing that focking diabolic chorus inside and outside my head. Plus, when in doubt, the best vocalist always wins.

Tim, there's a reason you almost repeated as Indi's Champion: you have an amazing thumb on my pulse, and I believe this last round was more a matter of scraping the barrell than losing track. You have resisted every attack and challenged everybody, plus – if we factor duels won – you have basically won this thing. Blame my silly rules, and once again thank you for the wonderful music ,participation, and being the best sport I know, on or off line.

RJ, yours must be one of the most bizarre and amazing roulette runs ever. You went everywhere and got every kind of score in the spectrum. Yet you kept pounding, and for some magical reason you were practically untouched in the rumble, as if fate wanted a crazy run to win this crazy thing. Congratulations, you beat the guy I was convinced would have won this. Thank you for the great songs and let me give you The Belt:

(courtesy of King Awesome Joe. A big thank you!)

Rest of the gang, you have all my gratitude. I will remember these two months as The Rumble Time, not The CoVid Time. Thank you!

Vince out.

Back to Sinatra.

This was great! Even coming in last place, and bowing out Santino Marella style in the Rumble, I enjoyed reading along and sampling new music.

Any way we can get a list of all the songs submitted as a final wrap-up?

After Darkwater and Lost In Thought  tanked, you shoulda both known that Prospekt wouldn’t hit the mark!  Prospekt is pretty fantastic though.

Let’s see... what did I miss today
1 - Stratovarius is the very definition of generic power metal. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, just generic. Lots of good things are generic.
2- i was increasingly giggling at the pop culture references, envisioning Randy Savage in a discussion with Tim.  I then lost my shit at the 17 lyric. Mrs.jingle was telling me tomorrows weather forecast, then glared at me with “I don’t think that was really that funny”

Congrats cheffy!

I’m really gonna miss this roulette. Guess I gotta go find Puppet Jong Il.

Who has the stones to start a roulette now??
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
