If I'm interpreting this accurately, just because Katt (for instance) may eliminate his selected target, doesn't preclude him from getting eliminated as well. Additionally, even if Katt *doesn't* eliminate his target, that doesn't mean he will be eliminated.
Perfect interpretation. The only way to be eliminated by tour target is by being already targetted by the latter and losing the challenge.
So, four potential outcomes for everyone:
I eliminate my target, AND ... I get eliminated by the one who targeted me - OVER THE TOP ROPE!
I eliminate my target, BUT ... I DON'T get eliminated by the one who targeted me - on to the next round
I DON'T eliminate my target, BUT ... I get eliminated by the one who targeted me - OVER THE TOP ROPE!
I DON'T eliminate my target, AND ... I DON'T get eliminated by the one who targeted me - on to the next round
