The “holy focking moly, it's getting dusty in here” group:

Ok guys, in a surprising and very unIndish way, not many words and dicking around here. Each of these songs brings me back to particularly poignant music and moments in life, touching memories. Funny thing, it's recently been my birthday which, by fate's cruel irony (and fate always punishes and nourishes comedians with cruel irony), doubles as my worst loss' anniversary. Fact is, it's difficult to rationally manage the whole bundle of music-induced memories and emotions (assuming my usual writeups can be called “rational”) into nimble prose, hence I'll proceed by impressions and sketches, without elaborating too much or showing “photos of ghosts”.

The score is 9 for the three of them, if you wanna stop here.

ariich: Toehider – Meet the Sloth

Avanantaqualung

Ian, the favourite storyteller – the fights for Live in the UK – In the Light synth sample at 4:20 - the girl from Pentangle I wanted to marry – acoustic lullabies – Magic Keeper

Evermind: iamthemorning – Lighthouse

Aural porcelain

Piano lessons – Yvonne Elliman every night – the bottom of the lighthouse – suddenly there's nowhere to go – no time to show the pieces are back in place

TAC: Gary Moore – Business as Usual (Live in Montreaux 1997)

Do I remember a life?

Fleetwood Mac arguments -  the crucifix and school -  Rory vs Peter Green -  some kind of salvation -  solo smelling of grass -  never one of us, never one of them

Great round guys, I had musical woodies. I'm posting the standings in a minute and  the rumble guidelines tomorrow, then we dance!

The Standings:

Evermind: 14 + 22.5 + 17.5 + 13.5 + 15 + 9 = 91.5
TAC: 10.5 + 22 + 17.5 + 13 + 18 + 9 = 90
jingle: 13 + 22 + 12.5 + 13 + 17.5 + 8.5 = 86.5
ariich: 9 + 24 + 15.5 + 13 + 15.5 + 9 = 86
lonestar: 10 + 22.5 + 15.5 + 13 + 16.5 + 8.5 = 86
romdrums: 13 + 23 + 14 + 12 + 15.5 + 6.5 = 84
Stadler: 10 + 23 + 17 + 11 + 16 + 6.5 = 83.5
Podaar: 10 + 20 + 14.5 + 15.5 + 15.5 + 7 = 82.5
Elite: 9 + 23 + 15 + 14 + 14 + 7.5 = 82.5
Puppies: 11 + 21.5 + 14 + 13 + 15.5 + 7.5 = 82.5
king: 11.5 + 21 + 16 + 11.5 + 14 + 8.5 = 82.5
Katt: 10.5 + 22 + 13 + 12.5 + 16 + 7 = 81
Sacul: 11 + 23 + 14.5 + 13.5 + 10.5 + 8 = 80.5
Train: 11 + 21.5 + 12 + 16 + 11 + 8 = 79.5
Chris: 12 + 19 + 12.5 + 11.5 + 15 + 6.5 = 76.5

Glad you liked it so much! I'd highly recommend that album, though they're a bit punchier and straight up post-metal on some songs, they're also more spiritual and psychedelic in some.

I should probably wait until Cyril confirms whether he is in for the rumble, because that would mean it's not my turn yet. But if not, how long would I have to send?

Lord I was born a Rumblin' man.

I had thoughts and advise, and I've realised the Rumble Round as originally presented would lack:

Surprise
Grudges
Mayhem
A full ring

... basically everything making a Rumble really Royal.

So, partially inspired by the bizarre standings, I have made nasty tweaks:

Step 1:

Cyril, Chris, Train, Sacul, and Katt will enter the ring together, but each one of the mentioned gentlemen will secretly specify in their submission PMs which adversary they're gonna target. This could lead to a bunch of unpredictable clash/elimination scenarios (4v1, 3v2, 1v1v1v1v1, etc.) you're going to find out in my mock-match result writeup.

Step 2:

The (if any) survivor/s of Step 1 will resubmit and secretly re-target
The 82.5 Club, i.e.  Podaar, Elite, Puppies, and king will enter the ring, submit and secretly state a target (both step 1 survivors and fellow new entrants are available)
Mock-match result writeup

Step 3:

Survivor/s (if any) resubmit and secretly retarget
Stadler enters the ring, submits and secretly targets
Mock-match result writeup

Step 4: like 3 but romdrums

Step 5: like 4 but both ariich and lonestar enter and yadda yadda

Step 6: like 5 but jingle

Step 7: like 6 but TAC

Step 8: like 7 but Evermind

Steps until one man stands

This is going to ensue a healthy dose of unpredictability and an obscene amount of bad blood.

Are you ready to rrrrrrrrrrrumble?

GoT turned into a shitshow in Season 5, in my opinion, so I'm not posting anything GoT-related in this thread

I kinda liked the original rules more, but this should still be great. Also Cyril now has a higher chance to kick me out with djent so there's that!

So I don't do nothing for the first part and send you shit after the first wave of results? Sure, I can do that.

By the way; I can understand throwing the 83,5 group together because, well, we all have the same score, but there's so much difference between the bottom four that this is going to be nice an ridiculous. Looking forward to whatever shenanigans you come up with on the spot.

Also that score for the Toehider song is outrageous. Thank me, other Rich :lol

Or in your rank (weight class)?

So let's say I target Podaar, but he targets Stadler.

Podaar scores a 9, I score an 8, and Stadler scores a 7...

Podaar obviously eliminates Stadler.

Does he eliminate me by virtue of a higher score, or am I still good because he did not specifically target me?

Or in your rank. I forgot  ;D Thank you!

The important thing - the true engine of chaos -  is absolute secrecy in pointing your target.

So let's say I target Podaar, but he targets Stadler.

Podaar scores a 9, I score an 8, and Stadler scores a 7...

Podaar obviously eliminates Stadler.

Does he eliminate me by virtue of a higher score, or am I still good because he did not specifically target me?

Great question. In that scenario you're still good. Elimination is possible only via targeting. It's a way to have unpredictable and random eliminations (plus loads of animosity and sidebetting) instead of 15 straight 1v1 duels.

My writeups will basically be a narration of songs brawling with each other
